The Killing (Season 2)

Thought the ep 2 weeks ago ending with Holder getting the crap beat out of him was really entertaining, but this week was back to another blah episode in my opinion.

Oh I did get a kick out of watching him get beat down on the "previously on The Killing". That's probably why I kept watching.

The beat down episode was good. Next one was slow. The following was really good. I have yet to watch this week's episode.

So, boy, the mayor just shows up places and drops shit after hours? Keycard, City of Seattle cuff links.

And we've gone from Rosie being a prostitute to a maid?

Apparently this show is getting a 3rd season.

Lulz I haven't watched at all this season but am reading Sepinwall's review just to find out who freaking killed Rosie and I read this in the opening paragraph:

So Rosie Larsen died not only because she overheard Jamie's Indian casino conspiracy talk, but because Aunt Terry was in the car and would rather let what she thought was some random girl drown in a lake than lose out on the chance that Mr. Ames would leave his wife. And before that, Darren Richmond got paralyzed because he had the horrible timing to have been attempting suicide at the exact moment Rosie was killed, making it difficult for a man in his position to offer the cops a convincing alibi. And before that, Bennet Ahmed got beaten half to death(*) because he also couldn't tell the cops the truth because he was busy trying to save some other, unrelated girl from being ritually circumcised the night that Rosie died.

That was so bad that I don't know if I can finish reading this review.

Going to check that out. I didn't know Sepinwall was planning on reviewing the finale. Read a quick writeup of the finale. Looks like the guy who everybody thought killed Rosie back in the first episode of the Season 1 basically did it and the aunt finished the job. Hilariously bad.

For all the criticism of this show, I still think it is a hell of a lot better than Walking Dead.

Lot's of people die on tv shows. Concentrating on one murder and jerking your viewers around for seasons just seems awful. 95% of the show is spent on people who didn't commit the murder acting stilted sketchy because the writers need to throw you off. Also the consistent look on the investigators face and the dead girls face make me not like them and not care.

What I learned: never kill for your married boyfriend. He'll just leave you. Alternately, if you have seen him kill, you'll have that over him forever.

I just can't see a millionaire driving around with Aunt Terry in that shitty car.

Yeah. Essentially that's the problem with this show. It's not as unique as other AMC standout shows. You can't find stuff like Breaking Bad or Mad Men anywhere. (Finally started watching Breaking Bad by the way. Almost done with Season 1. Great stuff.)

Not sure where I saw the Season 3 stuff. Looking again, that info wasn't confirmed or flat out wrong.

So who was the killer? I didn't watch any of Season 2, and from this thread it looks like that was a good call.
