Wake Forest Football / Military Bowl Thread

Wrong thread.

A few notes from the press conference and radio show:

Cam Glenn had surgery on his shoulder and will miss the Military Bowl. Ryan Janvion has been getting healthier is almost certainly going to be available to start opposite Jessie Bates.

My own recollection is that Glenn separated his shoulder in the UVA game. I suspect that they popped it back in place on the sideline and Glenn made some of the team’s most important plays of the season AFTER returning to the field. Glenn missed the Clemson game, but returned for 66 plays against BC. The injury was obviously bad enough to require surgery which he chose to have done before the bowl game. Obviously best wishes to him in his recovery. I’m not sure if we would be in the bowl game without him making those plays (one INT and one fumble recovery IIRC) against UVA.

Dionte Austin probably won’t be available from a depth perspective. He had surgery on his hand. There’s a possibility that he might be able to play with a cast, but it doesn’t sound promising. The worst part about that is that he is from Maryland, so I’m sure he is disappointed.

The team will travel to DC on December 22. They are planning at least two full practices after they arrive. Obviously they will spend Xmas there.

I don't guess there's anyway to listen to a replay of the radio show is there, I totally missed it.

I saw Janvion picking up dinner at Noodles & Company in GSO last night.

I called today to buy some to donate. There were plenty left. Sales of our allotment through the end of next week.

Per David Purdum, the largest bowl bet made at a William Hill sportsbook so far is a $44,000 wager on Temple -13 vs. Wake Forest.

Realize that WF may not crack double digits against Temple's highly regarded D, but how funny/vexing would it be if on December 27, WF went up and down the field and had a big offensive day with Temple's defensive looking totally unprepared for the looks that WF threw at them?

We're gonna wax their asses on both sides of the ball. We are seriously going to kick the shit out of them.

It would be awesome, but our offense just doesn't look like it would be hard to prepare for regardless of whether you have inside information or not. Seriously though, I really hope that we see the kitchen sink thrown out there by the staff on offense, we've got nothing to lose and no more games to play this season to have to worry about anybody learning anything. If we see the same predictable crap, I'll really be disappointed.

You chicken shits need to put down your teddy bears and get off this thread. We are going to beat them so bad that their fans make like the rest of the country and forget who temple even is. They'll be leaving the stadium saying "I didn't know St. Joe's had a football team."

ROLL DEACS BABY

But in all seriousness, I expect this to be a good football game and feel good about it. Don't ask me why because this is one of the few times I'm solely going off of FEELINGS and not numbers.

Maybe we should leave our playbook in their lockerroom.
