Chris Mack - Legitimate Target

Sources told CBSSports.com that some of those boosters are now endorsing the candidacy of Mack, who is widely viewed as one of the top young coaches in college basketball."

Sounds like some of our boosters are throwing his name out there. Not sure how legitimate of a target he is.

Maybe it's me, but a source conceding that Mack is being "targeted for sure", apparently in response to a pointed question, doesn't mean he's our main focus.

OTOH, it would be typical Wellman LOWF to target him.

How many times can we recycle the same coaches? Branch out Ron, use your position to meet new people, get out of the same coaching tree, make new friends. Come on dude.
 
Mack has a better record than Skip when we hired him

Of course Chris Mack is a target for Wake. But would he be interested? Has a better job.

Again disagree, but the last 4 years have really clouded perceptions. X board saying that Kelsey would be next in line to replace Mack - a lot of fascinating storylines here
 
Can someone provide a little more info on Mack? How long was he an assistant at Wake? Was he an assistant for Skip/Dino or both? Is Wellman really going to hire a former assistant with ties to our bad culture?

FWIW, there are worse candidates out there than Mack...Shaka would ignite the program right off the bat, but I could also see him jumping ship for a more high profile program down the road if he has continued success. Mack could be a legit long term fit....
