Mike Buddie (Assoc AD) Leaving for Furman AD Opening

Army has a far larger athletic department with more sports, more athletes and a larger budget. Would guess the Army v. Navy football game alone generates more revenue (by multiples) than the entire Furman athletic department revenue. So, from that perspective, it's a higher profile job. If Buddie's goal is to be the AD for a Power V school, I guess success at Army makes it more likely than success at Furman as the last Army AD, Boo Corrigan is now the NC State AD.

Thanks. Sounds like yes, it is a step up, or at least a reasonable step in the process of getting a P5 job.

The two Army ADs before Corrigan also moved on to P5 schools. Corrigan's immediate predecessor was Kevin Anderson, who went on to Maryland. Before Anderson, we had Rick Greenspan, the man who hired Todd Berry -- he went on to mess up Indiana after messing up Army athletics.

Might also point out the Buddie has a little name recognition in the Greater Hudson Rivver Valley area, which could be good for USMA sports.
