Mike Buddie (Assoc AD) Leaving for Furman AD Opening

W-S is just barely all right. Greenville is slightly better.

Furman ? Bleeech !!

I can confirm that Wake Forest's Mike Buddie will be named the new #Furman athletic director tomorrow. @foxcarolinanews

how in the name of zeus's butthole is a thread about our assistant AD and Furman on page 5

Apparently this is a done deal, I was just told by someone (a close relative) involved with the Furman athletic department.

how in the name of zeus's butthole do we have a Furman AD department #scoooooop

Now Currie can take Buddie's job and be in line when Wellman is forced out.

[name redacted] to be named the new Wake Forest assistant AD and the AD-in-waiting.

Since Wellman won't resign and the BOT doesn't have the balls not to renew his contract, I think we need to promote him to a new job specifically designed for his talents at WFU. How about CEO of Infrastructure Growth? A lot of large businesses promote incompetent individuals they can't get rid of for one reason or another by transferring them to a "new" job within.

Yep- a Director here in my office was recently "reassigned" as a Consultant.

Now whether he still was able to keep his Director's salary or not is another thing....

We all know a seasoned AD that just left his position on May 1 that is ready, willing and able to drive a solid Furman basketball program straight into the ground while keeping a smirk on his face.

Oh heavens, yes!

Good for Mike. Furman raised its profile over the last 4 years. Wonder if this means more WF v. Army clashes.

Is this a promotion for Mike?

Maybe he'll hire his mentor, Ron Wellman, as a consultant at Furman.

Army has a far larger athletic department with more sports, more athletes and a larger budget. Would guess the Army v. Navy football game alone generates more revenue (by multiples) than the entire Furman athletic department revenue. So, from that perspective, it's a higher profile job. If Buddie's goal is to be the AD for a Power V school, I guess success at Army makes it more likely than success at Furman as the last Army AD, Boo Corrigan is now the NC State AD.
