Rules:
1. Every rotation player in the last twenty years was included, 75 players total. I did this arbitrarily.
2. Players are ranked by how good they were at their best year at Wake. Almost always the last season but not always (e.g. I used Vytas's soph year). Only exception is that nothing before 00-01 counts for cases like O'Kelley.
3. General ranking criteria was how valuable they would be to a top 25 team.

I have lot of problems with this list, but i'll start with reorganizing the Top 5

1. Howard
2. Paul
3. Teague
4. Collins
5. Aminu

Howard was the ACCPOY on a team far less talented than Paul's. I also don't know what to do with Aminu.

Even if you were just looking at stats, Young Crab (#63) had better years than Mitchell Wilbiken (#34). This list is just arbitrary garbage.

Downey, Dawson, Levy, LD, Hale, Hicks and vidauretta all seem way too low to me. Downey in particular would have been the best player on every team we have had since 2010 except Collins soph season. Probably the same is true for the rest of them as well.

Pretty good list.

Hard to go past 25 due to lack of talent.

Thought McFarland should have been higher based on what he brought in terms of wins. I know lots of people hated him, but not nearly as much as our opponents.

The top 2 or really the top 5 just depend on how you value PG play, scoring, rebounding, and defense.

PG play puts Paul over Howard and Teague at #3. Rebounding and defense put Howard over Paul and Aminu at #3. This list seems to split the difference.

It's a decent enough list overall. Thanks for the effort. The major problems that stand out are a few players that at a glance look really underrated compared to the players right around them.

24. Antwan Scott
25. Doral Moore
26. Kyle Visser
27. Chas McFarland

Visser easily had the best single season of the bigs in this group. The only reason he didn't play more before his senior year is that he played behind Big E.

29. Robert O'Kelley
30. Codi Miller-McIntyre
31. Broderick Hicks

I’ll be the first one to tell you Odom relied on O’Kelley way too much especially as a senior when everyone but Odom had realized Songaila and Howard were far superior players. But he was definitely better than CMM and Hicks.

47. Anthony Gurley
48. Jahcobi Neath
49. Harvey Hale

Hale symbolizes Skip’s failure to replace Downey, but he was much better than Gurley and Neath in their short-lived Wake careers.

66. Terrence Thompson
67. JT Terrell
68. Kevin Swinton
69. Ikenna Smart

Plenty of Wake fans have forgotten these four, but Terrell had a noticeable impact and was a guy who could have been a four year starter if he got his life and game right. JTT was definitely not a bottom 10 player over the last 20 years.

I think Chris Paul was just ridiculously good in college. Also, I think the team Howard's senior year was a bit overrated due to a weak ACC. Only ranked 21st in KP, vs. 15th in Paul's freshman year.

I'm also just big on how good Aminu was in college, especially his sophomore year. He really anchored the team defensively, too.

I think Terrell might have become decent (esp. under Skip), but his one year at Wake was pretty awful.

I always thought Visser's senior year was a bit overrated under the "good stats on a bad team" umbrella. For a contending team, I think Scott is a better fit as a more complementary player who was good at defense and in transition.

Yeah but CP wasn't even the best Wake PG on the floor in the WV loss.

Taron carried Wake that game. Gotta deduct points for that one.

Speaking Taron at #17 is ridiculous. He's Top 10 at least. And Bryan Crawford ahead of him? What in the actual fuck. Nevermind this list sucks.

I"m really concerned about this board's new found love affair with Austin Arians.

I'd give the nod to Howard, he took his team to 1st in the ACC. How many times have we finished in 1st by ourselves in our history?

CP missed one game that year and Downey took his place and played the whole game. We got whooped by NC State who was on the bubble. Taron was a really good role player who would be a fit on just about any team, but Crawford (who I think is massively underrated and would have thrived under a coach like Skip) averaged 16 ppg and 5.5 apg with good shooting percentages on a solid team.

not sure what the criteria is here -- peak or career -- but hard to justify Hoard that high

never mind, saw it's peak
