Fischer 1st Team Parade All-American

No offer but we were recruiting him.

So, I guess Bzz can't really get credit for Fischer or blame for him either, if he doesn't pan out.:tard:

He averaged 6 assists and 6 rebounds with his 37 ppg. That is astonishing for high school. That means on any given night he is directly responsible for a minimum of 49 ppg for his high school team. Obviously he is the only good player on the team, but that is astonishing. It will be very different for him when he is only being guarded by one guy when he gets here. He can very clearly get his shot up from anywhere, and probably very quickly. I'm very excited to see what he can bring to the team next year.

That is going to be the question. Getting your shot off against W. Va high school kids is obviously not the same as getting your shot off against ACC players. Hopefully he can still get his shot off against ACC competition. If he can do that and guard other 2s effectively, he will contribute.

TOs/game in HS is a useless number when you have the ball all the time and are head and shoulders the best palyer on your team.

He was double teamed in many games. This creates TOS.

Another thing is when a player is much better than his teammates, he knows where a player should go. often that doesn't happen. This is especially true for primary ballhandlers.

Of course the haters HAVE to look for something to hate about. After all if Chase wins the 3 point shooting contest Sunday and is a Parade AA, their hate on him looks petty and childish.

Hell just being invited to Houston puts him light years ahead of where many here need him to be to fit their needs to b negative.

This is awesome news. Chase does one thing really well and that is shoot the basketball. You can be a productive player at many levels if you are excellent at one thing. Hope he continues to hone that skill as well as work on the other parts of his game.

Chase will be Jimmer Fredette East Coast Version.

I don't think anyone is trying to hate on him, just trying to get the full picture.

I agree that 5 turnovers is not a bad thing and not really surprising. As someone noted, he accounts for nearly 50 points per game for his team, obviously he's going to have some turnovers.

Conversely, he won't be handling the ball and being double teamed in the ACC.

At Wake he'll no better than the third option when he's on the court. That's also different than in HS.

Using this premise, if his team averaged 70 ppg (which would be very gopod in 32 minutes), 5 TOs from 70+% of their production is very modest.

We'd LOVE to have that at Wake. It would mean we'd be averaging less than 10 TOs/game. That would be incredible.

RJ, I don't think people are being overly critical just asking probing questions. Will this guy's game resemble Fredette or Alford. Both can/could shoot the lights out but Alford needed four screens to get open.

Everybody hopes that Fischer is the next Jerry West.

Great news. I would be thrilled if Chase has Blake Hoffarber's career.

Yes it is different.

Some of the nation's top high school basketball talent will be heading to Houston April 1 for the National High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships.

Intersport, CBS Sports and MaxPreps.com will showcase 16 future college stars in the event, which will be held at the Berry Center at 7 p.m. CT Friday, April 1. It will be broadcast Sunday, April 3 (4:30-6 p.m. CT) on CBS Sports with numerous encore showings on CBS College Sports Network.

MaxPreps is selecting eight rim-rocking dunkers and eight long-range shooting specialists to compete. Details on participants will be released in the coming days.

.

Wow. Very nice.

I haven't read this entire thread but I'm assuming there's an obligatory Terence Oglesby comparison somewhere in here.

Fischer's assists and turnovers should both be taken with a grain of salt. Both are merely products of being double and triple teamed on a regular basis.

The point is that we all hope Fischer is great, and the idea that we hope he sucks because we have some hatred of Bzzzz is pretty silly.
