Fire Him

Woefully unprepared for the last two inbounds plays. Inexcusable.

This is absolutely nothing new. The final play of the NC State game is a prefect example. Despite the stoppage in play & the fact that the referees were huddled around the monitor, it never occurred to him that they were going to add time back onto the clock. I realize it won't be remembered since they didn't make the open shot we handed them, but that was one of the more inept moments I've ever seen out of a coach at any level.

There is an outstanding chance that was me. I sit in the upper deck and I yelled at as soon as the game ended several times.

Setting up a 3 point play to a 1-5 shooter when we only needed two points to win the game .....

BRILLIANT!

Well, if you sit in the upper deck it wasnt you. That tells us that there were at least two folks with the exact same thought at the exact same time!

The play was clearly not to Fischer. CJ got in there and couldn't do anything with it so he kicked out.

And awesome. I drew the ire of nearly every person leaving under me from midcourt opposite of the benches, so I hope I will at least have converted one old person.

If the play wasn't for Fisher, ten it was a horrible play. If you are going to put CJ with the ball towards the lane, he should be taking it right up the gut.

Taking is baseline makes it much easier to defend and less likely that he will get fouled.

I just got back from work not too long ago, and had not yet heard if we had won. My computer refreshes as I turn it on, and the Sports Board forum pops up with the "Fire Him" thread front and center.

Ahhh, another moral victory I see...

Is anyone concerned with Wellmans ability to hire a competent coach? Even if bzz gets canned, I want Wellman canned as well for believing the bullshit he has been spewing. I really think we need to get to the root of the problem as well here and he needs to be fired.

Wellman would possibly depart if he had another gig lined up...would be nice if another BCS school would be in the market for a new AD. Somehow, get the two together...Problem the other school would not want him and if they did we could always throw Buzz in with the package and if the deal has merit, Grobe could go also!!!

I know it's been discussed ad naseum, but how long is the recovery process from this clusterfuck going to take? If we were able to land even a mildly competent coach, what's our best case scenario for making the dance. 2 years with these underclassman? Is the talent there at present?

No other school could pay him what he makes at Wake due to his tenure. He'll leave for a cush semi-retirement type job with the ACC or NCAA.

If we can compete with Jeff [Redacted], we can certainly compete without Jeff [Redacted].

Tyler Cavanaugh is leading the team in fouls, with 60, and has a total of 5 blocks on the year. 5 blocks and 60 fouls. To top it off, he is last on the team (not including walk ons) in steals with 5. Hes the only player with less than 10 steals. So Cavanaugh leads the team in fouls, has only 5 blocks and 5 steels. I just thought those stats were incredible given that [Redacted] has started Cav multiple times this season and basically had him playing over tree 99% of the time. [Redacted] has no idea what he is doing, no plan, no vision and no understanding of how to effectively manage substitutions throughout the game (especially at the end of the game).

In his defense he is having to play the 5 when Thomas is out and the 4 as a freshman undersized

Most times when I think Buzz made a poor coaching move I realize after some thought that it was actually the right decision and that my anti-Buzz mindset clouds my judgement. The 2-for-1 at the end of the game is a perfect example.

He's fine from an X's and O's perspective BUT he can't inspire his players at all and this is why he needs to go.
