CMM and Rountree now 4 star, top 100 on Scout

Some witty remarks to be sure. NC St got a post grad coming from Cal-BakerSville to help play the point for them next season. Where is our post grad PF?

There aren't that many that can actually play.

Why bring in a guy for one year if he isn't an absolute stud?

The downside is much worse if we bring in a 15mpg guy for one season.

I have always wondered how successful Wake could be at getting a post-grad. It is not so much an issue of it being an attractive destination but I cannot imagine we have THAT many graduate programs not offered by a lot of other schools. that may make it tough since they have to go into a program not offered at their prior institution. Of course, I am often wrong so maybe Wake has quite a few unique degrees to offer

why do you think there is a big downside? I can understand if the person wouldn't see time but a player that can rebound and halfway defend other bigs for 15 minutes a game would be a big pickup for our current team.

It could creat an issue on the team if the player isn't a star and is only going to be there for one year.

The guys who lose minutes may react badly and we don't have a lot of margin for error. We need to create cohesion and have the guys who are returning improve as much as they can.

If he's simply a practice player it would be different.

Coach Bz must have been promised at least 3 years, because to basically stand pat after going 8-24 with 3 likely role player recruits is asking for big trouble.

Well they put the full court press on Katenda and unfortunately come up short. Who knows what the hell was going on with Ajayi.

My point is we might not break .500 this season and then you have the 2010 class as juniors plus a solid 2012 class. That only gets us back to a parity position in 2013 with a likely 6th or 7th place. Not a lot to show for 3 years. Then plan for a big jump as the 2010 class is seniors. That is a long wait to re-enter the top25.

I was just saying that all though the staff failed to bring in Katenda, they didn't stand pat.

As far as projections go, it's tough to make any arguments based on what might happen in 2012-13. The 1-2 year outlook moving forward for an 8-24 team is expectedly pessimistic, but I think it's possible that Travis and JTT could carry a top half ACC their junior year... it's all still just speculation.

It shouldn't matter what he was promised if there is no improvement on last year's complete abortion of a season. Actually, calling it an abortion is being too nice.

dv7 and a lot of fans will be calling for the end of the Coach Bz era after anything like last season. Sorry to be blunt, but it does us no good to have tried for Katenda since we lost the battle. Travis and JTT could get us in the first division that year since there will be a lot of parity by then.Still that is not a lot to look forward

It certainly doesn't do us any good to have missed on Katenda, but at the very least it means that saying the coaching staff is "standing pat" is unfair. It seems they've been trying feverishly to find a big man this late in the game that can A) produce, and B) qualify academically. Aside from Katenda, I'm not sure we've heard of a guy yet that can do both. Ajayi was never an option with the handlers and all those shenanigans.

Yeah, love ya deaclite, but "standing pat" was probably not the best choice of words. I don't like Buzz, but he did try.

He failed, like he nearly always does, but at least he tried.

Also, if we have another season like the last one then Premier Wellman's concern shouldn't be people like me that already think he has lost the plot. It's the others that would start to really question his recent decision making that he should be worried about. I'm sure Wellman couldn't care less about me.

Maybe Ron should have realized our recruiting challenges are difficult enough without reducing the pool of possible recruits even further. Ron did him no favors.

You guys are too easy. You don't get credit for good effort. It is only the results that count. Our roster has led basketball gurus to pick us behind BC which has like 5 points returning.
