i also hate when Dino is blamed for "culture-problems" and Bz is praised for a "culture" turnaround. really wish the whole culture excuse would die already. if we were truly so concerned with culture we wouldn't cover up a player failing a drug test. and to just dismiss all transfers as bad seeds who either failed academically or culturally is a shame. you can't just lump in guys like TC Carson and Anthony Fields has bad guys who couldn't cut it at Wake. they left for several reasons but obviously the coach had something to do it
 
So his thoughts on Bz's replacement contain a current ACC head coach, a former NC State player, and a guy I've never heard of? Damn.

And he can attest to our character and experience by calling us "so-called fans" and questioning our loyalty? That blade cuts both ways. But I'd love for my WF diploma to have the kind of basketball success Louisville's has had. Guess he can't share that with us, though.

Kinda part of the job description for the Band director to be the biggest cheerleader regardless of record, coach, etc. So i don't blame him for his blind loyalty. I blame him for publicly questioning the Fanhood of others.

nothing disgusts me more in sports than the "real fan" discussion. Who the f are you to tell me if i'm a real fan or not... I love Wake, want desperately for them to win and truly believe in my heart that we will never ever ever ever get to a Final Four. not ever. There never has and never will be any hope.

I just want this ass-hat gone so I can blame losing my NCAA pool on putting wake IN the final four every year rather than for being an idiot.

Moton sounds like a good fit for Wake. 15-1 in the MEAC, 22-9 overall. Most importantly, he got beat by 13 by #7 A&T in their first game in the MEAC Tournament. Perfect fit for Wake.

Just stop man. I was with Bowen at the Orange Bowl where he was behind the Deacs 100%. I've been at countless Wake/FSU games where he's started mock Seminole chant. The dude bleeds black and gold.

So it's ok for non-alums who agree with you (Stratt, vtwhat. . ) to outwardly express their opinion and express judgement but not ok for non-alums who disagree with you to do that same?

Oh, I never said I agreed with his comments or him making them, just that it didnt surprise me that former bandmembers were defending him.

QFT. Sports is entertainment. It's a fucking game that we watch because people can jump high. The "real fan" people are the ones who take sports WAY too seriously.

And is Larranaga not somehow attached to the reason Miami might go on probation? IDK, I don't follow this stuff closely enough. But would we really want a coach who might be tainted slightly by his previous school's impropriety, coming to Wake as our next head coach? Isn't that why we canned Dino? Impropriety?

I don't give two cents if he is Bz in. That is his right. Just don't post on a public forum as the "head of the most spirited organization on campus" etc. in a manner that calls into question whether or not others are "real fans."

That is all well and good, but he is still questioning our loyalty and implying that we aren't "real" fans. That is some bullshit.

To be fair, the movement, and the point of the ad, is FireBz. That's an opinion.

It's also probably unwise to be THAT indignant about some folks not being jazzed about pushing to get a man fired from his job.

Not saying he doesn't deserve to be fired; he clearly does. Not saying that as a public figure who makes over a million dollars a year to coach a game that he doesn't deserve any and all types of criticism; he clearly does. But actively trying to get a man fired from his job is kind of low-down. There's no way around it. And some folks find that unpalatable.


At the end of the day, publicizing the stats and only the stats is probably the best course of action, so bravo to those who have been.

Yeah I am not either. My buddies all loved the guy to death. I think now, though, we can at least empathize with why the players we offended by an ad calling for their coach to be fired.

It's fine for him to express his opinion on [Redacted]. It's not fine for him, as a University employee, to express his opinion on us and whether or not we are "real fans".

his argument is that he should not be calling "BuzzOuters" bad fans simply because they want buzz gone and are vocal about it since, you know, he does not know most of us.
