He can't ignore the board's request, but he can attempt to change it. Three options: 1) Passionate plea: probably not going to work at this stage of the game. 2) Threaten to quit: probably doesn't have enough capital at this stage of the game. 3) Line-up donors in support of himself and [Redacted] and get them to make threats: This is what we have to worry about.
 
It's hard to win "the right way" (arrogant tone like in his presser) when you hardly win.
 
There is no logical reason to retain [Redacted]. None. Not loyalty, not his contract, not his personality, not his track record. None. I don't see any logical way he remains our coach after this season.

Then again, you could say the same for his hiring, but at least his CU teams improved. His Wake tenure has not approached that level of "success."

NC State has shown they play like total fucking horse shit against lesser competition. They got taken to OT by Virginia Tech for Christ's sake!

Plus the U lost 3 of it's last 4. I don't care that they are the #1 overall seed in the ACCT or that they are ranked #6. They aren't a strong 1-seed, as evidenced by their loss at home to this GT team –*which swept us

Exactly, we have rolled into the tournament more than once as a top seed and shit the bed. There's no doubt that we have done some good things this year, but beating State and Miami are not indications of turning a corner.
 
A well-placed person of one of the graduate schools told me last week that BZZ will be back next year. Went through all the same stuff about how much legal trouble the school was getting ready to be in (wouldn't elaborate on 'why') and Bzz was brought in to clean the program up. Wellman wasn't concerned about winning, just about getting things 'right.' I replied that the two things are not mutually exclusive of each other. You don't have to hire a loser to have a clean program, and if BZZ stayed much longer the cleaning would take care of itself because there would be no one left to keep 'clean.' I am resigned that he will be back next season. The only good news about it will be that I will yet again move to better seats in the Joel. We are right now at mid-court, lower level. I might be sitting beside Ashby Cook next year!!
 
[Redacted] said "foundation" about 3 dozen times in his post game presser. Coach, it's not about a foundation; it's about a winning foundation. It's also about being there for your players and being accountable, not passing blame.
 
So many whiny pussy WF students complaining in the comments on Blogger So Dear about the ad giving WF a bad image. I think I counted the words class/classy used at least 3 or 4 times.

Those same whiny pussy students are the ones that give Wake a bad image by not going to the games or giving a shit about our basketball team, which was one of the best things the school had going for it as far as national image goes. Those same whiny pussy students only came to Wake because they wanted to get out of the North/ couldn't get in an ivy/ wanted to go to a school with a good ranking or a good (not nearly as good as they try to make it seem) business school and that's it. In my opinion, Wake already has a bad image because of the school Hatch is trying to change it in to (one for a bunch of entitled pussies and douche bags) and it's leaving behind what it has been historically and the ideals that made up its (to borrow [Redacted]'s words) foundation, and other shit I could rant about for hours. Fuckin' Yankees. I should've gone to Davidson...
 
My personal favorite comment is the one that says #BuzzOut is the entitled group who wants their way since we've not like Buzz from day one.

Does me thinking it was a bad hire from day one make the point that it has proven to be a bad hire from day one any less valid?
