Wake Forest vs Tennessee -TV or stream thread

Bzz

- we played a much more mature, physical team that just pushed us around and we didn't handle it well
- They were 10-13, and manhandled us inside
- we tried to go back at them down low and couldn't convert
- we just never could get anything going
- we got impatient offensively, towards the end we began executing better and got fouled
- three games here that were different types of games, KU two possesion games, led wire to wire and got our tails kicked
- we talked about emotional control. 50% of your strength is from the head up.
- if it's not going well for you, it's not just about you but about the team.

I just cant stand listening to things were way worse bullshit.

In 2003 a Baylor player Murdered his teammate. In 2008 they were in the NCAA tournament despite what had happened 5 years earlier. We are in year 4 of the bzaster. We are showing no signs of things getting better.

Whatever may have been going on, I am not aware of but it cant be worse than a teammate murdering another and having the coach cover it up.

What? We could have been as mentally strong as it comes, but those guys were men and they would have abused us with their actual strength.

It really doesn't matter what the state of the program was when Bz arrived. He's not going to leave it in better shape. That is for damn sure.

No way in hell more is said when Bz is fired
When Bz is eventually gone, the following will be the AD spin:

He'll be thanked for everything he has done for the university.
He'll be credited for coming in and creating a culture satisfactory to the standards of Wake Forest University.
It'll be noted that it was fully necessary for [Redacted] to do what he did in order to give us a chance at success in the future.
Because of [Redacted], Wake Forest basketball will have a bright future ahead both on and off the court.

Nothing will be mentioned about his record. Nothing will be mentioned for why he is gone. Unlike Dino, the only discourse will be about a promising future.

And after a couple months, [Redacted]'s name will never be uttered again by the AD.

It will just be an unfortunate but necessary piece of Wake Forest basketball history.

The point he's making is why would Wellman want to keep so many integral parts of Dino's staff if the program was rife with problems.

You'd have to ask Wellman that, but I would assume he felt like they had a quality staff and didn't want to punish them for Gaudio's issues.

Your story about secret problems doesn't fit any narrative of players retained, assistants retained, the only person that left was Dino that's it.

Regardless of the supposed existence of any issues when [Redacted] was hired, it's his own fault he's taken 3 years to get a legitimate class at Wake and on a related note, he still has not recruited well enough to field a full, well rounded team. Furthermore, this program is built to fail in two years even if it does improve in the short term. He took a team that may have had some issues yet still was winning and turned it into a horribly unstable one that loses regularly. Any competent coach does not need 4+ years to improve and stabilize a program because after about 3 years it is clear the problems involve the coach.
