Anyone watching this? Lebron just basically said, "I don't care that people wanted me to fail, because their lives suck compared to mine"
 
And Lebron's douchiness coming out at the press conference:

LeBron just basically said, "my haters will still be poor when they wake up tomorrow, and I'm LeBron James" at the presser.

@greggdoyelcbs: LeBron just said he's fine because haters "will wake up tomorrow" with their same problems. And he'll wake up LeBron

@marcel_mutoni: LeBron just basically said "I'm richer and more famous than you" to his haters.

Man, he is evil. Sucks, I really liked him 14 months ago.

Maybe. But its was always Lebron vs. the World. Which most people respected. Now its Lebron and his talented friends having to play together on the playground to win, which nobody respects.

Also good god Lebron is getting tar and feathered during this press conference. I'm not even mad at him for his "I'm an NBA god and your not" response about his haters.
 
I mean the question was basically phrased "How do you feel about the haters being happy that you lost". I probably would have said what he said.

What a dick question.
 
LeBron played the "all the haters are still poor bastards" card in the presser. What a bitch.

D-Wade is a probably a good dude outside of basketball but his game is what is wrong with NBA basketball.

Personally I think he deserves it. If you're going to engage in so much self-aggrandizement you need to take your lumps when you lose. I mean he's right about what he said, so you at least have to let the media rip him up for awhile.

Yeah he just lost. In the finals. And is getting hard questions. How many normal people wouldn't get mad and say something like that?

The Decision is probably the #1 most overrated event in recent sports memory. It was simply a primetime press conference that ESPN and Lebron used to make money. They had something precious and sold it.

I feel like I could just repeat the post I made on the Politics board about Palin hype. It's capitalism. People wanted to know where Lebron was going. Suckers watched The Decision even though it was already reported earlier that day he was going to Miami.

There's no help for anybody that gets so up at arms about ESPN trying to make money off access to information. That's their job.

If you ask somebody "Would it have been better if Lebron just called a press conference and gave an interview afterwards?" and they say "Yes" it says more about them than Lebron.

My reason for hating LBJ (and I suspect others' too, even if they don't realize it) is I really liked him before, and I wanted to see greatness out of him. And he just gave up. He, Wade and Bosh tried to rig things so that they could dominate the league without necessarily being particularly great, but rather just letting their superior talent dominate. Thankfully they failed.
 
lebron loves the words "individually" and "absolutely".

That's basically the point. Lebron, for no good reason, intentionally torched the goodwill the public had towards him. It was just insanely poorly thought out. If we didn't realize that Lebron really was a douche, he decided to proactively make sure everyone who didn't know that fact now did, for zero purpose but a minor amount of money and a lot of ego. Dumb. Inexcusable.

Yeah I just meant that for me personally I hate his press conferences because it's all just coach speak pc type stuff. Now in the tunnels he gets controversial and fake coughs sometimes
 
I posted back when Lebron was drafted that he was a Scottie Pippen and would have trouble winning a championship as the best player. A lot of posters laughed at that.

They'll probably win a few championships. They did better than I thought they'd do this season. Laughing now is just setting yourselves up to be laughed at.

I really don't know why so many people liked Lebron though. That baffles me. He's never had a real personality that wasn't manufactured, kinda like Kobe. No persona except very talented basketball player. The other greats had something you could point to about them. Lebron was empty. I've never understood the appeal except that he's really athletic and fun to watch.

He didn't say exactly that here is exactly what he said.....

"Absolutely not, cause at the end of the day, all the people that was rootin on me to fail, you know at the end of the day they still have to wake up tomorrow , have the same life that they had before they woke up today. They got the same personal problems that they had today. You know ima continue to live the way I want to live, and continue to do the things that I wanna do, be with my family and be happy with that so, they can get a few days or a few months, what ever the case may be, on aaaa bein happy about , not only myself, but the Miami Heat on not accomplishing that goal, but they gotta get back to the real world at some point. "


Still an extremely ridiculous response.
