I can't believe the starting offer for Lembo was less than Grobe's first contract in 2000.
 
Clawson is a decent hire but Lembo was such a perfect fit. Wellman should be fired and never allowed back on campus. I love how he went to some trash college, majored in PE and thinks he's the smartest man at Wake. Go away Ron.

I don't think hiring Clawson is a reason to fire the AD.

Do you actually believe we went in that low? While OTP has provided some good intel, that low an offer doesn't pass the sniff test. There's no way in hell we went in $300k below the lowest paid ACC coach if Lembo is our guy.

Either we're smokescreening and went in low knowing he wouldn't bite or there is a bunch of posturing going on.

If Lembo was the first choice and the hangups were regarding autonomy (in regards to how he runs his program) then that is problematic. Winners do not want to have an AD micromanaging them and everything we have seen says RW is just that.
 
I don't think the $1mm is honestly that surprising. Wellman is going after his guy.

Ehh, we don't know how much of that is Wellman and how much of that is MSD.

This a million times over. Also, When your president and AD are national NCAA figureheads, your hires will be plain jane vanilla and lowest risk.

LOL... Yet another board urban myth.

In 2001 the highest paid college coaches were Steve Spurrier and Bob Stoops at just over $2M per.

Only 11 coaches earned over $1.2M in 2001.
