NFL Black Monday Thread

i've made up my mind and i want zimmer in detroit

I'll take lovie and tedford and JFF and a good DE in Tampa, please.

@AdamSchefter
Panthers DC Sean McDermott is scheduled to interview with Redkins this weekend in Charlotte, NC.

Some never learn from others' mistakes.

He was 76-52 in his last 8 years as head coach, including 10-6 last year. I can see why Tampa would go after him; doubt they have ever had a 8 year run that good.

Dungy and Gruden had a pretty solid 11 seasons combined...

Beamer to the Skins...Foster takes over...

Guess we settle for Cutliffe...

Hoo boy. And here we go. Paging Townie...

@AdamSchefter: Lions are scheduling an interview for their HC job with Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell, per league source.

Please make it happen. Please.

Gotta be a straight Rooney Rule play.

Not necessarily. I could see Caldwell and Detroit working out as long as he has good coordinators. These days, I think coordinators are about as important as the HC is. Caldwell isn't an accomplished play caller. But he's good with QBs, and I think he'd be great with Stafford. Give him a Norv Turner or Hue Jackson calling plays and a good DC, and that could work out. What Detroit needs is discipline and accountability, and rather than bring in a Schiano or Coughlin type personality, Caldwell might could be able to be that right mix of disciplinarian and players coach.

Caldwell is the polar opposite of Jim Schwartz.
