BCS National Championship Game Thread

ACC 2-0 in BCS games, SEC 0-2. All that great pressure cooker competition won them nothing. Their best win came from a team with a Big 12 roster.

IT'S SO HARD TO MAKE IT THROUGH THAT TOUGH SCHEDULE!!!!!!11111!!!!juan!!!

So pre-bowl season who would the playoff committee have selected and would they have been the right choices given what we know now? I think FSU, Auburn, and MSU are locks. I'm not 100% convinced Bama would have been selected over conference champions.

It's not his English, it's the fact he sounds like another self-entitled asshole football player who is touched by God while the rest of us peons should feel lucky to watch him doing it big for the whole world.
This is a legit gripe. Him talking fast and mangling words because he just won the national championship, not so much. People get excited, they have a hard time speaking.

I wonder how many here lost their minds when Vytas Danelius used to say "you know" every other word in post game interviews.

FSU-OU/Bama and Auburn-MSU/OSU. MSU-Auburn would have been a great game. FSU-OU would have been great too.

Maybe I missed it, but when FSU took their first lead, early in the 4th quarter and then won at the end of the game..... I don't remember hearing the fans chanting ACC, ACC, ACC!!!!!

The SEC has the worst fans in the world because of their conference pride....I know Bama folks who were cheering for Auburn. Sick

Playoff panel doesn't want rematches

Using this season's final BCS standings, and next season's semifinal sites, the final four would have been No. 1 Florida State playing No. 4 Michigan State in the Sugar Bowl and No. 2 Auburn playing No. 3 Alabama in the Rose Bowl.

the Reff is so upset South Carolina didn't win its 8th consecutive natty

That's a dumb comment. The SEC is a better conference in football than the ACC. The ACC is a better conference in basketball than the SEC. It's stupid to take random examples of games (like coin flip outcomes in the BCSNCG last night) to try and make a point otherwise. FSU had a very good football team this year. I would argue if anything that the "pressure cooker" of the SEC schedule had Auburn better prepared for this game because they came out and almost ran FSU off the field for 30 minutes. FSU hadn't seen a team play like that all year. It took them time to adjust to that level of football.

He sounds so different from all the other big name college athletes...

Well at least Barn can fall back on that one.

I'm the one that originally brought up the thinly veiled racism comment. And really it was only directed at SD3 who essentially said that there is no way Jameis could stay academically eligible based on that speech as if a 30 second sound byte when your heart rate is probably 150+ and you are euphoric after winning a natty.

I've got no problem with the critique that Ralph Medlin posted above. I didn't really interpret it that way but can understand how he would have. I thought it was more a dude that was excited, had nothing planned, and just kind of jumped around hitting some of his cliches.

LOL. Jameis is not what some condescending white people would term "well spoken." Likeable kid, but about half of what he said immediately after the game made me go, "Huh?" It was English, Ph, but it was mangled to the max. At one point it sounded like he was saying Jimbo was the song of God, or Jimbo's son was Jesus, or some shit. Whoever's son it was, he was blessed by him.

He just turned 20 and won the NC on a last second drive. The adrenaline alone was exploding inside him. His mind was racing and he was trying to be gracious.

He did a great job. Lots of 30yos who win championships or get interviewed before or after a game don't do as well as he did.

In 2013, the top of the ACC was better than the SEC.

FSU had to pull a UNC to keep Winston academically eligible

Absolutely racist and paternalistically condescending like your other post.

He turned 20 yesterday, had mountains of adrenaline and excitement running through his body. He had just taken his team down the field in under 1:20 to win the NC. He'd rather be sharing the moment with his friends and teammates.

This isn't like being interviewed after winning an Oscar or an election. This is a pure rush.

He was exhibiting pure joy and was trying to be nice to everyone. Actually I thought he was a breath of fresh air as compared to many.

Whatever "IT" is, he's got plenty leftover to share with others.
