Briffa opens his comments by demanding strict confidence -- and little wonder why, he is calling bullshit. He says I don't agree with it anymore and he's not joining Mann in conference
Briffa: “IN STRICT CONFIDENCE I am sending this for your opinion. To be frank, I am inclined to decline. What do think? Presumably you and others are already in the frame?”
Briffa: “Thanks for this, but after a lot of soul-searching this weekend, I have decided to decline the invitation.”
Keith Briffa won’t come to the States to testify for Mann because Briffa fears Mann’s tree-ring “trick” to erase past warming would be exposed. If this happens then the comparatively moderate warming of the late 20th century will be interpreted as yet another natural episode of natural climatic variation. Here’s Briffa’s take on it:
Briffa: “I believe that the recent warmth was probably matched about 1000 years ago.“

the only thing i'm 97% certain of is you have no idea what you're talking about. i look forward to opening this thread every day to see some copy/paste of a snippet of a conversation between actual scientists where they express uncertainty or reflection on an idea and have it presented as evidence that global warming is a planet wide, big business hoax.
that and OP/EDs from lobby groups on behalf of Big Energy companies which, (again, if you understood anything about this topic) you would realize is where all the "hoax evidence" is coming from/being pushed.

You would ask yourself, why would some 50 career NASA scientists, former directors and astronauts come out so strongly against Goddard (GISS) and James Hansen and the IPCC?

In April of this year, 49 former top NASA scientists and astronauts released a letter they had earlier sent to NASA administrator Charles Bolden expressing their belief that the claims of NASA, and specifically its Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), “that man-made carbon dioxide is having a catastrophic impact on global climate change are not substantiated.”
Hansen has admitted the models have failed. He admitted there has been no discernible increase in surface mean temp in 15 years.
James Hansen is also the person the Cause turned to when the billions of state funded monies were threatened.
These scientists and many others are miffed that Hansen's group at GISS have rubber stamped the "idea" the lost heat is now trapped at the bottom of the ocean.
Turney 's expedition went to the antarctic to try and prove the massing of heat was causing the ice cap to dramatically recede. Instead it has seen a massive expansion.
If you actually did some background you'd find that big oil $ is not even a drop in the bucket compared to government funding. That just tells me you are in league with rjkarl. Your mouth is moving but you don't have a clue as to what you are talking about.
