Wake - Virginia Tech Game Thread

Come on, the game was never as close as the final score indicated.

OK, I'll try again. We just allowed 50 points in the second half to a team that averages 69.5 per game, without the aforementioned players.

Yeah, the defensive effort was awful in the second half. We made Wilson look like Shane Larkin.

Was hoping to come by this thread and see happy people. Good road win. You can either bash the coach/defensive effort/or whatever your gripe is.... or you can be glad this group of guys got a road win in the ACC. Choose to be happy. It is much more fun.

Good win tonight against a team that was overmatched from the beginning.

Have to "validate" the win by beating the Irish on Saturday.

Happy for the guys on the team.

I am happy. We won the first half too!

I'm plenty happy. Good win this was not.

Wake just beat a bad team missing two starters by six points. Those two players average 22ppg combined. I know it is a marquee win for [Redacted], but think about those numbers for a minute.

And they are the worst team in the ACC. But that doesn't mean we can't beat ND at home. And I want to beat ND at home. Extension be damned.

Disney heard we won!

@RTD_MikeBarber: Wake's [Redacted]: “I was thinking about telling the bus driver to go to Wilmington & then Charlotte & just drive around so we can enjoy it."

This guy is such a donk.

OH MY GOD. I hate this man.

What a joke. He's such a loser that he doesn't understand the concept of stumbling his way to a win over a bad team. When you're so far from wins, they all look the same.

Everyone needs to fucking chill. We played very well in the first half and the refs hurt us in the second. McKuen showed up. Buzz made a couple of good moves. We won. Geez

In all seriousness, I'm not too worried about the near garbage time defensive lapse (at least not any more that I am willing to give bz credit for ultimately losing to Clemson last year by "only" 16 pts). We crushed a team in the first half that we were supposed to crush, and CMM showed that he could take over a game during a potential meltdown. Maybe it sucks that this is one of the highest compliments we'll get this season, but it's something.

Winners expect to win. Winners act like they have been there before. Winners don't celebrate a victory over a last place team missing key players like its a big deal.

[Redacted] simply is a loser. It's engrained in his coaching DNA. This is not changing at this point in his career.

I want a winner at Wake Forest.

Back in the room, now. :) Returning tomorrow though.

Watching Illuminations from the inside? Weak. If your arm hair isn't signed, eardrums aren't hurting, and you don't have ash falling on you, you're doing it wrong.

Seen it before. Dinner wasn't over before it started though.

You're joking, right? We let them score a layup so as not to foul and they hit two wide open 3s all in the last minute. Not a win that signifies much but it is a win. You sound ridiculous when saying the game was as close as the final score indicates.
