Awesome. What a huge difference in our football coach and our basketball coach. Currently the best strategy for basketball recruiting is to rely reputation and pray they don't actually make it to campus to see the man in charge.
 
Looks like only Lance Virgile was rated as a higher commit by ESPN over the last few years. I have been so down on football, I don't even know who Lance Virgile is.

He will be a RS Freshman this year and is a LB from St. Thomas Aquinas. His highlight tape is very good and I expect him to be a very good player for us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1ZZWauvCb8

I guess our "gamble" paid off. Excited to see what Clawson can do on the field, but he's already exceeded my expectations off of it. Imagine how well he'll be recruiting once he's had some time.
 
it's safe to say we're not the worst recruiters in a major conference anymore, right?
 
For those unaware, Uter is also an elite baseball prospect, and will play in college. The one fly in the ointment would be for Uter's baseball skills (he is a pitcher/OF, and throws hard) to blow up this Spring and for an MLB team to offer him a tasty bonus. On the flip side, Uter is a really good student, and academics are a priority (the same was true for Jason Heyward).
 
This isn't the type of underrated sleeper prospect that we had to over-hype and hope would pan out. Great get by the Coaches!
