BlackBeard's storyline...damn

Also, sucks you don't have a gaming PC texas. We could get a sick titanfall crew on dat between TW, myself, probs df09, and you.

I'm on PC, but my MIL is visiting this week...also I suck at this game. My reaction time just isn't good for killing other real people I come across (grunts are easy though!).

Yeah, I'm just not good enough at FPS games to make me want to play Titanfall a bunch, unless I'm playing with a group of friends.

Also, I tried to play Beta and the game crashed about 5 minutes into each of the 4 times I played. Not sure what was up with that. I'd enter a multiplayer game, and I'd get booted back to the Xbox dashboard after about 90 seconds. I'm thinking it was because the game was a digital download.

Your xbone still having issues w/ that?

And yeah, I've never been super at FPS shooters (not since Halo 3 or so at least), and especially not on PC. But after switching to an xbox controller I've done a lot better for whatever reason. The titan combat doesn't take quick reflexes or anything, just good tactics.. I'm probably at a disadvantage vs the really good players that are using their mice in pilot vs pilot, but I'd be screwed vs those guys anyway. My K/D ratio the last ten games is around 6 for the player only kills (14ish including grunts)..

Burn cards are interesting too, I'm still not even using those to the full extent that I should be.

I'm looking forward to seeing the full weapon arsenal and titan lineup when the game actually launches..

So you don't feel like you're at a disadvantage with a controller vs. mouse for just straight up shooting? Is there decent auto-aim for controller users?

No, and no there isn't auto aim. But I really haven't needed it or anything, maybe I'm just that much smoother with the controller stick that it hasn't mattered much. You could use the smart pistol though if that was really a concern, it can really be pretty decent once you get the hang of it.

Yeah, unfortunately. From a little bit of googling it seems it's still an acknowledged issue (digital downloads creating unstable game files) that Microsoft would prefer not to address too directly. I'm going to preorder disc versions of Titanfall and Thief, and if I still have the issue, I'll probs look into switching out my box or something. Not really sure what to do other than wait for an update that fixes the problem.

Yeah definitely try and do that at some point anyway, I'd think Microsoft would probably honor the warranty for that kind of an issue and swap it out for a new one if you're persistent.

Yep, people online have said they've had their boxes switched out, I think. But it really does seem like a software issue, not a hardware issue, so I'm holding out hope.

Once I switched to Energy-saving mode for start-up (i.e., the Xbox completely shuts down and clears RAM every time you turn it off) it worked fine for ACIV. After I finished ACIV I switched it back to Instant-On and then had issues with Titanfall Beta after I downloaded it today.

I've been playing some of the Warface beta lately. Aside from the ridiculous name, it seems to be a fairly standard class based current day military FPS. Doing decently well as a sniper, though there are some issues in the game as a whole concerning shooting through cover. I haven't had much of a chance to run around as a medic yet, but that seems fun, since they are the shotgun class. Also, I saw some extended video of South Park today, and it looks tremendous. I think I'm going to use my money from Jaybone to buy it (provided Wake doesn't make a miraculous turnaround in the next couple games).

Ha, don't hold out hope for too long. :p It could just as easily be a faulty memory issue.

Anyone else been following this?

An Australian hacker set up an emulator in twitch where commands typed into the comment box are used as a controlled to play Pokemon. The only catch is there are normally 50000 people watching at a time with hundreds typing in commands per minute. Somehow, they are over halfway through the game. Link to watch live is in the article

They are currently stuck in team rockets hideout. Cant get past the arrow puzzle as you can imagine. If somehow by blind luck they get past it, 0% chance they ever get to the gold teeth in the safari zone. Currently 60,000 watching right now with an estimated 7000 typing in commands.

they just implemented a voting system to see where to move next and it looks like people are also voting between Anarchy and democracy....

Well then...... back to the real world
