Big "what if" but if Beachy and Medlen can't go will the Braves add any more $$$ to the payroll to pick up another pitcher?

Probably not. We would certainly try to trade for someone to eat innings until we see what Gavin Floyd has to offer in a few months.
 
A 1-year deal for a lot of $ with Ervin Santana would make a lot of sense. The team seems to still have money to spend for this season. Santana seems to be amenable to a 1-year deal. Good fit.
 
Santana's too much $$.

If Beach/Meds are out along w/ Minor, David Hale will get a shot and a re-tred in the mold of John Burkett/Ben Sheets/Freddie Garcia will be in the works.

Thank goodness for Gavin Floyd in May...(famous last words)
 
Plus we lose a 1st round pick w/ Ervin Santana

DOB said he heard from a person close to the royals that it's possible. To me giving up the draft pick isn't really a big deal. It's pick 26. We got #32 from losing Mac.

I wouldn't think the Braves would be too concerned about the pick...adding more $$$ to the payroll might be a bigger mountain.

Looks like Medlen is cooked.

News on Beachy looks like normal soreness, and he still seems like he has a ways to go, but he's not done just yet.

Looks like we are gonna have to count heavily on Teheran, Minor, and Wood. If Beachy cant make a contribution, we will have to find help somewhere else.

Some good news is that supposedly Wood put on a bunch of muscle in the offseason. Freeman said he looks like a beast on his twitter.
 
What was Beachy's velocity like when he was healthy and good? He's never been a flame thrower, IIRC. If he can just get his fastball up to 92 or 93 I think he'd be fine
 
I'm so upset now. First Smitty with the panthers. Now kris. Both my favorites for their respective teams.
 
Fuck.......... I really hope to get Santana. We're so screwed if not. The rotation will blow.
 
Dr. Andrews is taking another look at it today or tomorrow.

MRIs are weird w/ previously TJ surgery folks.
