Bzzz throws fans and former players under the bus again

Colorado didn't fire him but I know how they must have felt when he left town. It's like four years of grey sky have lifted. I'm not even sweating who we hire. It could be PhD and rj for all I care. People who know basketball know he didn't get a raw deal at Wake. I'm sure other coaches look at him and wonder how the hell he made it through four seasons winning only two road games in conference.

First time I've ever seen a lynch mob try to continue to hang a dead corpse.

Don't be obtuse. He granted the interview and trashed former Wake athletes. We've heard your thoughts on those players and Dino. If you want to be the last apologist for Bz, well, it's a free board.

I'm on board with 99% of the "just move on" stuff... But that interview? Bashing kids who've been out of the program for 4 years? Blaming message boards for Haas? Referring to the fans that wanted him gone as "the minority" and commenting on all the "beautiful" emails he's been getting?

People have limits. Those are just unbelievable positions to go on record with.

100% this.

“It’s amazing, I’m here at my desk responding to beautiful emails where people are proud (of the basketball program), but they never spoke up during all the negativity,” [Redacted] says.

To me, this is the most telling comment of the article. He blames not only "the small, vocal minority" that wanted him gone, but the "silent majority" who supported him for not doing so sooner.

Hell, they came to the games and didn't boo you. Isn't that enough?

They were so silent they quit going to the games. The Joel was like a funeral parlor yet the majority supported him? BS

Thanks for pointing that out. It had blown right by me.

What shitty place is Bzz moving to? I'll contribute to a billboard warning them of this new resident. "watch out (insert unlucky city here), sheriff [Redacted] is in town to steal your happiness and pollute the youth"

While I don't disagree with this post, I think it's funny how some people point out these little things, like the Quad being rolled, and say "what an embarrassment."

Our record over the past four years was the embarrassment. That more people weren't really embarrassed and really mad about that, especially the people in positions of influence, is the real story here.

I'd actually be surprised if there wasn't some sort of language in the agreement that curtailed what he could talk about with the media.

[Redacted] was embarrassing. But, the way in which we expressed our displeasure was also damaging and embarrassing. One doesn't require the other. Neither was needed.

I seriously dislike Jeff [Redacted] on a personal level.

Two things:

1) The let sleeping dogs lie group sure didn't do that with Dino
2) Jeff [Redacted] is not a good person, not a good leader. I am embarrassed that he was associated with my university. Much more so than I was ever embarrassed about all but one basketball player (and that particular one graduated btw).

No program, D-III or above, worth anything will hire this clown. He's done. Time to scuttle back to the basement at some NBA training facility and break down tape you cockroach.

This!!

Terrible leader and apparently not a good person either. If [Redacted] is going to fault anybody he should fault Ron Wellman for putting him in a position that he was not qualified for and could not handle. He should then fault Ron for not firing his butt after year one when it was obvious that [Redacted] was going to be a disaster at Wake. Negativity from fan base came from Ron and [Redacted] moving forward as if all is well year after year despite the sinking ship that Wake basketball was becoming
