Official Hoops Coaching Search Thread - Welcome Danny Manning!!!

Welp, Buzz had a better resume than Danny Manning.

What the fuck have you been smoking that tells you that?

Meh-ning has at least won an NCAA Tourney game, and in his second year. Bz had 7 years under his belt when we hired him and was 0-1.

If this is about to happen, we need to fire Wellman before the contract is set. Maybe put Buddie into the position tonight.

I finally agree with you! The world really is going to fucking hell. Time to stock up on ammo and mayonnaise and prepare for the end.

Bz drove fans away do all you Manning 'could' be great folks really think he brings the fans back? I don't. This is as much about pr as it is on court success!

No he hasn't

For a fan base just dying for some excitement, hiring a guy with 2 years of head coaching experience, um, isn't exactly going to help matters.

Tulsa hasn't won a game, the second round is where they started.

He who shall not be named has the better resume, which is pretty pathetic and damning.

Re: Manning's "name recognition"

I was like "the guy who played for the Jazz?" Then I looked him up and realized he only played for the Jazz for 1 year and instead was in Clipper purgatory for most of his career. I have had season clipper tickets for 3 years and am in the top 3 most active posters in the NBA thread, and am 32 years old.

That's not that much name recognition.

Manning has not won an NCAAT game.

No he didn't. No matter how deep you dig.

Manning has been a head coach for two years. Buzz had multiple stops as a head coach and a stint in the NBA.

This sounds exactly like four years ago when people started talking themselves into [Redacted]. Everybody claims they were Buzzout from the beginning, but that's a bunch of baloney. This is nearly exactly how fanbase took the news before. "WHAAAAT?!?!! OH NOES, TERRIBLE HIRE!!! ... I DUNNO, HE COULD BE KIND OF OK. NOT THE STATEMENT HIRE WE WERE LOOKING FOR, BUT LOOK AT SOME OF THESE PAST STOPS. AND THE NBA! THAT WILL HELP WITH RECRUITS AT LEAST. LET'S BE CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC."

nm, for some reason had it in my head they won one. Not like it's been that long...

Who are the "sure things" that are out there. List them.

There's a big thread that lists them, which has been running for months. Quit inserting yourself into arguments and being bullish when you're unclear of the terms. This isn't the Tunnels.

I'm not sure what your getting at. Either you're oblivious or you just don't know much about your favorite NBA team's pathetic history.

This thread is going to explode into first place in total number of views.
