SHELTON MITCHELL DECOMMITS?

He was close to Battle and Larue. I was told he wasn't feeling the new staff, didn't want to get here and realize it wasn't a good fit and waste a year of playing time.

Sugar coat it all you want, but this kid is good and we need him next year, especially after losing Moto.

Good Lord Manning has his work cut out for him.

Next year was going to suck no matter what. We lost our only outside shooters and don't have a real center.

I hope we have at least two scholarships for 2015.

This is what I was worried about if Battle wasn't brought back but I have more confidence in Manning recruiting than I did Buzz.

I use ESPN and 24/7, don't give a fuck about Dave Telep, neither have Shelton in the top 100. His rankings don't have nearly the consensus that you're implying with your smart ass tone. As for Manning finding his own PG, it obviously doesn't have to be from the 2014 class. Last I checked we had 2 returning PGs, so stop with the "sky is falling" shit, you're only enamored with the kid because he picked Wake a while back, if he were going to Virginia or State you wouldn't give him a 2nd thought.

Also! Aren't you one of the bros that broadcasts "CAN'T SEPARATE FIRING DINO FROM HIRING BZ" bullshit? How can you reconcile that opinion with the separation of the loss of Mitchell from the gain of a (much, much) lower rated Wilbekin or Cornish? From a "scouting service" perspective, we're losing this trade no matter the player we sign to replace Mitchell.

That doesn't say much. We've lost Moto and Mitchell but none of this falls back on Manning right?

I don't really think it matters when judging Manning. Like I said on the other thread we kept everyone last time and we were all pumped. We promptly suffered through four years of awfulness.

This sentence is one of the more absurd things I've seen posted here.

One of our returning PGs is Madison Jones, a guy who is a net negative when he's on the floor, and who I'd call our all around worst player (yes, worse than Andre or Tree). The other one is CMM, who is at his best when he's playing the 2, and has never shown a knack for creating offense with his passing.

I'm enamored with Shelton Mitchell for the same reason that I was enamored with Isaac Haas: He's a Top 100 talent who fills a pretty dire need for us. To lose that is not fucking good.

Yeah this.

It may not point to anything in the grand scheme but it certainly doesn't help. I mean Shelton was committed to Wake when we didn't even have a coach.

Eh, the sooner everyone associated with [Redacted] is gone from our program, the better. I mean, this guy committed to [Redacted] knowing that there was a good chance he was getting fired. Not the decision making skills of a great point guard IMO. Bring on wilbekin. Btw, my autocorrect keeps trying to change wilbekin to wolverine so there is that.

Oh, and Shelton Mitchell is ranked 89th by 247's composite service.

If you are working under the assumption that Shelton committed to [Redacted] and not Wake Forest. So far it is either "expected", "he committed to Battle", or "he isn't a good player anyways". I am pretty sure the tone before was that Shelton was committed to Wake and we could literally hire Dan D'Antoni and he would stick around. Of course Manning shouldn't get any of the blame because he is a great recruiter.

Shelton did not commit to [name redacted] he committed to Wake and wanted to play at Wake until last week.

So i'm supposed to be losing faith in Manning already just because he lost/cut loose a #75 - #108 PG that he didn't recruit, and that situation is somehow supposed to be similar to the Dino fire/Bzz hire? Why don't you try turning down the aggression a notch and formulate that mess of a comparison into a coherent point. I doubt whatever you could come up with would make me any more upset over Shelton decommitting.
