Student work load

I had to have mine reset so I could get in :couch:

And yeah, I had Bobroff and didn't realize he was there before, or back, or anything. Interesting fellow - I think he was a weatherman in another life. Or this life.

Gillespie, Powell, and Louden were probably my favorite professors.

I figured, but the "Bobroff is back at Wake" comment surprised me because IIRC he was a vising prof when we were there and wasn't their our freshman year. He must have bounced back to Wake several times.

Also, how the hell do all of you remember your WIN password?
Just use something you say all of the time - like fuckduke

Always liked Fred Chen and John Wood in the econ department.

One of my biggest regrets was not putting more effort into my studies; I'm not sure I got enough out of my other experiences to justify the grades I left with and in retrospect, I really missed out on a lot of opportunities to learn more from some interesting people (professors). It's done now, can't change it, time to stay on the grind. I've done well at this point, and I'm not sure I'd be significantly better off if I had graduated with a higher gpa anyway.

Bites you either way. I constantly feel regret over not hanging our more and working too much.

you were definitely "the responsible one" ...though ZE and RB had their moments, too.

of all your life regrets one of the biggest is that you didn't study more?

jesus christ.

No regrets- studied hard and played hard. I got out of Wake what I put in and the discipline to earn two post graduate degrees in my insurance field.

I have similar thoughts to leftcoast. I could have been just as social and put in more effort. Maybe a little bit less time playing NASCAR 2005 in my boxers on a Tuesday afternoon.

i also think i could have put more time into actually learning. there is very little material that was taught to me that i've actually retained, and i know i took some interesting classes... that's why i picked them.

I would def say it was ME, RB, ZE and GA in that order. Although GA shouldn't even be on the list.

I do wish I had blown off Spring of 08 a little more though. I was already into law school and my schedule was a joke so good grades would have been there anyways. Made a 4.0 that semester though, only one of college. I had 3.869 or thereabouts Jr and Sr year, so yeah I think I could have hung out more.

ETA: Just figured out WIN (requested a password). Why in the world would I be listed as a "continuing" student?

I still have the paper on which he wrote: "One of the best papers I have ever seen on this topic: A-"

I have never heard a professor speak kindly of his term as a dean. I know of several that received e-mails from him chastising them for giving out too many A's.

Weird, he definitely gave As in the seminar. I do know that if you didn't turn in a full length rough draft and basically edit the rest of the semester it was pretty much impossible though.

For some reason the "or thereabouts" cracks me up when you go to the thousandths. Like I guess it could have been 3.864 but my memory is fuzzy these days.

Class of 2004 (I'm old. Turn 32 in less than three weeks). I looked again and he was just at Wake temporarily from 2012 to spring of 2014 so he's gone again.

I didn't really start to "try" until I declared my major (HES) -- i.e. the reality of post-college didn't really kick in until then. I did OK (some A's, more B's, one or two C's), but nothing to hang my hat on. I didn't go to grad school after college so it worked out. My employers have never asked for my GPA (3.0) so thats good. If I decide to go back to grad school one day, I'm not worried about getting in because there are so many online/distance learning programs like ECU or NCSU out there that an opportunity will present itself.

In talking about terrible professors, it is tough to beat Dr. Katula in the HES department. Dude was arrogant and was weird with girls. Since a lot of HES majors were girls, there were tons in all HES classes, including his (Health Stats). He always came across as trying to be smooth or cool during class, plus I saw him wasted in Foothills one time (which was hilarious). But on a personal note, I would go see him all the time during his office hours because I struggled with stats (I am NOT a math person), and he was incredibly unhelpful and seemed like I was interrupting his happy-time by being there.

i guess that, of all the regrets from my college years, wishing i spent more time studying doesn't make the list.

i frankly find it odd that people disagree
