Glad someone else is making that mistake.

I love how the Man U fan narrative has changed now that they can't dog Man City for spending anymore. Hilarious thing is despite all the chest-thumping, if Van Persie really is long-term injured, this won't make them any better -- it'll just replace him, in theory. At his age, chances are Van Persie won't come back well from injury, but not sure Falcao will be as good or better than a healthy Van Persie was in the world's most competitive league. Falcao seems to take the path of least resistance, moving to the highest bidder rather than where he can become the best player, so perhaps should have been no surprise that this is how things ended up.

DV can front all he likes, but I've no doubt that most knowledgeable people are more than aware of what I'm talking about re: Falcao, and I'm also guessing if he'd signed for City we'd be hearing all about it from DV.

DV, why you be fronting?

I know. I was fronting a few days ago when I said it would be a great signing for City, Real Madrid, or Arsenal when they were rumored to be the leaders for his services. I knew that United would come in at the last minute to sign him. I'm omnipotent!

Yeah because you've never been inconsistent before.

Whatever, this is a delightfully boring day for Liverpool. They may sell someone, they may not, I honestly couldn't care less; the important work is done. All I know is LFC must be a great club to work for if Borini and Assaidi want more than twice their current wages to move.

Going to go enjoy a beautiful afternoon, will see what the end of silly season means for other clubs after the fact.

Must say a lot about Manchester United as a club that Cleverley is demanding over triple his wages to move then. Must be the most amazing club on Earth to play at.

That was a joke. Because it is fucking stupid to suggest that a players' greed has anything to do with the quality of club that they are about to leave.

You completely missed my point, as well as the motivation of the players.

The "greed" move isn't to take less money to stay where you are. They're basically saying they're happy where they are, but if you pay them this ridiculous sum, then ok, they'll go. If they were greedy, they'd negotiate and take the move. QPR offered Borini something like a 75% raise. Borini is turning that down to stay.

I really don't blame Cleverley, he's been with Man U since he was a kid, and unlike guys like Blind and Moreno that are leaving their boyhood clubs, he's not leaving for a move up. It's gotta be almost like being rejected by a family member to him.

Borini is marrying a woman that is from Liverpool, so maybe she wants to stay at least for now.

But it's easy to forget that these are real people with lives aside from their job. Cleverley and Borini have every right to stay if that's what they want to do.

hokies! haha

Not sure if this means Ohio State is terrible, or by the end of next weekend the ACC may not have an AP ranked team other than FSU. Maybe both.

Maryland loses, VT loses, WVU wins, OSU somehow looks worse despite winning 66-0, Wake Forest can't even organize a plane trip...this has been pretty entertaining so far. Time to enjoy a nice fall afternoon.

good for him

i think his performance against bama was more impressive, but hey

For the most part. Last year they would have found a way to lose this game though, today they found a way to win it (after trying to find ways to lose it despite being obviously the better team) -- and not really the one you'd figure, with a patient running game down the field for the FG. They ran 108 plays though so Md had to be tired.

Amazing how much better you are when you have a QB with a healthy arm and a competent line.

I hope you are doing OK, Kanhoji. I am concerned that you didn't make a snide post after a Manchester United game like you've done over the past month.

Hugs!

oklahoma looks ridiculous. pretty lame draw for WVU to play two teams that look like locks for the playoff

Oklahoma is good, not sure how good though bc WVU coaching and schematically did a lot of things wrong. A team that puts pressure on Knight has a good chance of beating them; he struggled early but WVU didn't push the issue and heat him up. Dana coached scared the whole game, and at this point I think you could get a pretty good sized posse to run the special teams coach out of town on a railroad tie. When he was DC the defense was beyond belief terrible (as opposed to merely substandard like now), and now the ST is terrible other than the kicker/punter which don't really require much coaching. Will be interesting to see if this team folds like 2012. Dana quit coaching with 2 min to go, another bad message to send to your team. WVU and Washington State got about the same treatment from conference officials -- protecting playoff contenders. Still rather be there than more geographically proximal leagues.
