College Football Coaching Carousel (2014-15 Edition)

You thought they had culture problems before.. He lost all control of the players at Auburn..

You guys didn't seem to mind when he won a national championship with a QB who shouldn't have been eligible.

May have missed it on another thread but Lobo was just hired by Richmond to replace their OC that went to Clemson. Sorry for the repost if I missed it.

I texted my brother's GF who is a former UR cheerleader and current UR law student and apologized to her.

After 14 years with the Sooners, Oklahoma OC Josh Heupel is out of a job.

State hired a new receivers coach -- George McDonald (they poached him from the same job at Cuse).

UNC-C lost its d-coordinator, Bruce Tall, to an assistant's job at WV.

WF announced an graduate assistant opening and per "Football Scoop" received an "overwhelming" number of responses. Everyone wants to learn from Clawson...

Harbaugh adds Florida DC DJ Durkin to his staff.

Brian Schottenheimer to Georgia as OC.

Have a feeling that the UGA fans who criticized Bobo will soon be LONGING for him. That is just a terrible hire.

Herbie disagrees, we'll see. No doubt he brings a Pro-style offense heavily relying on the running game. Sounds exactly what people want.

He brings a pro style offense that has been terrible in the NFL and he has almost zero recruiting experience. Jets fans hated him, and rams fans happy he is gone. Never a good sign.

I'm actually kind of surprised Stoops didn't get canned after the beat down he received from Clemson.

He has earned a lot of goodwill, but the big money guys (who will be funding the stadium expansion) are getting pissed off and changes had to be made. There are plenty of people who would not mind the least if he retired, myself included. I realize the team didn't care about that bowl game and it showed from the outset, but there is no excuse for what took place, and it takes place a bit too often with Stoops' teams.

Josh was a great QB coach, but sucked as OC. It was apparent he couldn't be both an OC and a QB coach, so he is gone. Once he moved upstairs, QB development went from great to nonexistent. Apart from the Alabama game, his playcalling has been atrocious. He was especially bad when the pressure was on. Norvell was the "co-OC", even if Josh was the guy calling plays up in the booth. Norvell's real responsibility was with WRs. This year's crop was horrific, and there has been a steady decline since he came on board. Outside of Broyles and Shepard, both of whom had definite talent out of the gate, he really hasn't done anything.

There were rumors that Mike Stoops is looking elsewhere too. Unlike many, I don't think he's a big problem, but he probably isn't the answer anymore than Venables was. The position coaches at LB and DB are real problems, and they need to go.

Oklahoma interviewed TCU OC Sonny Cumbie, who played QB under Mike Leach at Texas Tech (Leach was the OC at OU under Stoops before going to Texas Tech). Seems like a natural fit. BTW, TCU returns the core of their team from last year. If not the pre-season #1, TCU will be in the pre-season top 3 next year.

Why is it that Dabo/Clemson are always the beneficiary of teams that don't care about bowl games. First it was LSU, then Ohio St, and now OU? I get sick of hearing how great Dabo & Co. are (I'm in SC) because they have taken care of business in bowl games. What I'd like to know is when do they plan on beating F$U, GA, or GT in the regular season?

If I am OU and Chad Morris has any kind of success his first year at SMU, I'd pluck him like Auburn did Gus Malzahn from Arkansas St regardless of what Stoops does next year.

Cumbie is a co-OC but he wasn't the primary playcaller. The other co-OC Doug Meacham is and was a Broyles award finalist.
