Which he's not good at doing. Codi doesn't get his shot. He gets to the basket.
 
This one hurts so bad. But the kids have heart. We're on the right path.
 
The way that play went down the only option was for CMM to pass to DT after the pick. DT would have only had one guy on him (Toby) and would have gotten a decent look. Dinos was way outside at that point, not sure if it's in his range from there.

Happened the whole game. UVA did a great job limiting his options to pass out of the double. So his only option was to dribble out.
Another reason why the "go through Devin" idea for the last play is absurd.

Oh I'm pleased too with where we are. Manning is doing a lot with what he has to work with. And it is certainly encouraging that we rallied from 13 down to have a shot to win on the road. But it is still a loss and losing sucks.
 
R Childress needs a better poker face. Sheeeeesh, pull Codi over for some sweet nothings and whispers- hell the entire arena knew at that point that the play was designed for Codi.

This one hurt.

- defensively we have to do a better job, gave up way to many points in the paint
- guys have got to step up and make shot (FT's)
- nobody feels sorry for you in this league
- need to find ways to get the desired outcome we want
 
Brutal loss but really good to only lose by one. I'm not a fan of moral victories ever normally but 17.5 point underdog, go down by 13 on the road to the number two team in the nation, fight back and only lose by one.
 
Why not run a 1-4 clear out for Crab,with Greek and MW on the wings in they jam the lane? I knew Manning was going to give it to CMM AGAIN to lose the game and so did UVA. CMM is no threat to shoot so they cut off the drive and he holds the ball . LOL This is on both CMM again and DM.
 
Dribbling 10/13 sec with a chance to win against arguably the best DI team D is not a good option, especially by a guard that shoots abt 50-60% on FTs. A little surprised at Danny's call.
 
Manning putting the ball in Codi's hands there was bad coaching. That decision cost us a realistic chance to win the game. Codi in the halfcourt is as useful as a cock flavored lollipop.
 
I'd give the ball to Codi. UVA played great defense on that play. Feel bad for Codi. We are so much more fun to watch than the past 4 years. We will be good again. I believe.

He had to dribble out because he holds it too long. If he feels the double coming he has to pass immediately, not think about if he can beat it.

And on that play he tried to do what he does best: get to the basket. UVA stopped him rim doing that

Sums up my feelings. We know this team lacks talent. Manning is helping them best utilize their strengths. We know Manning filled in several gaps in that talent with recruiting. We have reason to believe next year's class fills in even more gaps.

How many times this season has Crab been iso'ed? Can count them on one hand. Can he even beat people off the dribble? No idea cause we haven't seen it.
You're only reinforcing the point that CMM, while flawed, is the only option in that situation.
 
Going to have to stay away from the TV tonight and having to see that last play where DMM dribbles all over himself.
 
End of game coaching is pathetic. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result .
