Yep.

If a dude that's a proven 25% 3 point shooter hits a contested 3 to win a game it's lucky. Just an argument of semantics.

And if somebody tends to get lucky a disproportionate amount of the time, that's indication there's a variable that is not accounted for.
 
Some would argue that luck is random variance.
Yes, it certainly is. From a statistics perspective, I just think there are better terms that capture what that metric is calculating. Not a big deal.

I think his employers forced Wellman to use a search agency, just as for football. Short of firing him, what else could they do after the Buzz hire? Wellman's retirement will be announced not long after this year's NCAAT. The man has become an embarrassment and a menace.
 
There is no such thing as "luck" in sports. Ugh.

You are good enough to win or you aren't. The shot was good enough to go in or it wasn't. There is no luck.
