i went with Zona but it was very difficult decision.

Miller's Crossing is my favorite movie of all time.

Shot brilliantly, funny, dark, gritty, quirky, and just amazing performances all around. I don't think there is one miss in that thing.

I just cannot get into the Coens for some reason. I have seen 5 on that list (Fargo, Lebowski, O Brother, No Country, and Arizona) and True Grit and had pretty much the same reaction to each. Mildly entertaining but none of them anywhere close to my favorites. I should probably give up at this point but I ended up seeing the new ones anyway.

Also, no love for the Ladykillers? Come on!

Actually, I think everyone in the world hates that movie except for my buddy and me. I think it's great!

"I don't know nuthin' about blowin' no shofer!"

"You brought your bitch to the waffle hut!?"

Pretty tough poll.

I think popular opinion would probably be Raising Arizona, Big Lebowski, and No Country.

I think I was one of about 4 people that really appreciated a Serious Man. Miller's Crossing is a popular movie amongst critics. I really enjoyed the Hudsucker Proxy when I finally saw it. O Brother is fun. Fargo is amusing.

I think it kind of depends on what mood you're in. I went Miller's Crossing.

I loved a Serious Man. Wouldn't put it as my fav though. I'll have to put some thought into this one.

O brother might be my favorite. What a bold movie to make. Its not for everyone, but its funny, has great acting, and music is just phenomenal. A buddy of mine credits that movie with the revival in bluegrass popularity, fwiw. A great American movie.

There are people who don't like O Brother????

O Brother is my favorite. On the other hand I've seen Arizona so many times I know most of the dialogue by memory.

Fargo, O Brother, No Country. In that order. I own Fargo, I would own O Brother if I could find it cheap, and probably wouldn't buy No Country but I have high standards for movie ownership unless it's a 70s-80s comedy, which I'm a sucker for.

Other than the Lebowski fanboys, the voters pretty much have it right.

I went with Miller's Crossing. I thought I was the only person who'd seen that one, nice to know there's more out there! I've also seen Lebowski, Fargo, O Brother, Arizona, No Country, and loved 'em all.

It is a super tough poll. I think we've even had threads where we've put our favorite Coen brothers movies. For me, Miller's Crossing is tops, but Raising Arizona is really close, and I love Lebowski, Blood Simple, Barton Fink, No Country and Fargo, which can all stand on their own.

I like NCFOM too, but if you read the book then the Coens have taken the story almost word for word and translated it to the screen. I just don't see it as a true Coen Bros. film, and therefore I don't think it deserves to be up there with some of the more original work they've done.
