no, i'm down with all the shit they carry (i presume). it's more just the cheesiness of the name/baskets/etc. that makes it lame. it also helps if you know my neighborhood where the street i live on has a sustainable butcher, an organic grocery, a succulent store, like 4 coffee shops, 2 bakeries, etc. it's just kind of taking it even further toward a pretentious little hilltop village.
 
I'd love to be able to walk to a butcher. I gotta take better advantage of working right next to Bristol Farms. Their meat selection is the tits.
 
but i do love the hood. i just think this place is over the top with the artisan epicurian bs.
 
in other news, i had 3 fat tires last night with dinner, came home and drank water before bed, and then woke up with a headache. wtf? sucks being 30.

Yeah, definitely. She also loves me enough to hunt that stuff down for me since I can't always get out of the office.

Keep in mind this is the same woman that got off a red eye flight and went straight to the liquor store to stand in line to get me a bottle of Pappy. She's a far better woman than I deserve.

I mean, I know people get to post whatever they want and leave out the gritty details, but yeah... you've got it good, amigo.
 
Killed a bit of time at Hoots last night, I had yet to really like any of their beers, but when I walked in the bartender immediately gave me a sample of their Zinz de Marz saying it was the best beer they'd ever made, and it was. Pretty tasty.

Damn, son.

I've throttled way back the last 2 years, but last night I met the wife after work for drinks. Had 2 beers. Then we walked to a local bar to catch some NBA action. Had dinner and 2 more drinks.

In bed by 10:30 with a little buzz, up early for a spin class (moonz!!!), and yet I think I crushed it. Pounding water toward the end of the night was key. 30 is going to suuuuck though.
 
Beer hits me a lot harder than liquor now - I had 4 Don de Dieus and 2 Ayinger Dunkels during a 3 hour happy hour ($4 bottles) - and I was lights out by 9.
 
I'm only 25 and I had three beers the other night (one EJB and two Harpoon IPA's), was done drinking by 10, and still had a headache when I woke up. I was pretty disappointed with that.
 
I don't get headaches or hangovers, necessarily, but I'm always exhausted the day after drinking because drunk sleep is awful sleep. I need some solid Zzz's to feel good the next day.
 
Is there anything on the East Coast comparable to Fresh Squeezed IPA by Deschutes?

i mean, assuming you had a 22... it's a 9.5% beer, and the harpoons are like 7% or more... so it's not like you were getting crushed by bud lights.
