Mad Men Season 7 Part 2 premieres April 5

And I like creepy Glen. I think his character has always been wooden and awkward on purpose. Whether his acting skills or lack thereof contribute to that impression, I don't know, but it works. He's fucking creepy, and we are reminded of that again when he awkwardly tries to put the moves on Betty. A boy going off to fight a man's war is still very much a boy and will probably die that way (and make this board happy).

I doubt anybody has seen Little Weiner's work in Weird Science 2 to see if he's wooden or just the character.

Wow, that last episode may be my least favorite Mad Men episode ever. That episode kind of sucked. I don't think I've ever said that before.

Can we just enjoy the rest of the ride without being angsty about where it's going? I don't think we can judge this half-season (which is really a full season, AMC) until we get to the end.

The Betty/Glenn scene was supposed to be awkward...but Weiner's son isn't a good actor. It's less evident when he just stands there, but it's much harder to hide when he has lines. I didn't mind January Jones in that scene; her problem is that she's in a show with a bunch of incredible talents (Hamm, Moss, Slattery et al) - so how much worse does she look in comparison?

About time Smoove gave us some acting breakdowns. He's been holding out.

Hahaha I just figured I'd be boring everybody.

Nah man. It's usually a joy when somewhere posts about something they actually know something about.

Was there a debate about Glen's acting chops? From long ago Weiner was being asked about Glen left and right from critics about why he was so awkard/weird/creepy and Weiner was just like oh he's just a character he's not supposed to be weird.

Lo and behold his son goes through puberty and he's like I've got 5 episodes of a prized drama left let's focus a stupid story-line around my idiot son that can't act.

The last episode was super meh. The fact that Glen dominated a lot of the theme of the episode is what worried me, Weiner is no David Chase, Vince Gilligan. BB was a different kind of show so I wont compare the urgency of the last season of that show to MM... but even in Sopranos Tony's ennui was building towards something, We don't need more episodes proving Don is existentially bored especially since we did this story-line with Roger too!

Matt Weiner's son can't act. He couldn't at age 10, he can't at age 18. What we are seeing is just nepotism, plain and simple, tarted up as high art.

I think Matt Weiner is just mailing it in at this point. Very sad, because the show in its early years was the best TV series ever.

I didnt mind Glen's reappearance only because it brought Vietnam home to Sally and forced what I imagine happened to thousands of girls her age to happen to her. And it further added to the messed up world she's grown up in.

He's a terrible actor but his appearance served a purpose here in my opinion.

I would totally watch a Mad Men spinoff where Sally moved to California and changed her name to try to get away from her parents and find her own way

Only if a mutilated Glen tags along.

Two characters that everyone wanted to die end up getting sent to Vietnam. The first one didn't die. I'm not confident Glen will either.

This show has always secretly been about Peggy. I'm cautiously optimistic that the series will end with her doing something important, rather than a lazy "Don jumps out the window and turns into the credits " move.

Also, don't forget that Weiner is part of the Sopranos TV family-tree. We might be in store for a bogus ending like that.

The Sopranos ending was incredible.
