Huckabee says this isn't an issue for the presidential election and people are being baited into talking about it. Comical. Now that Huckabee has spoken we can all rest assured this isn't an issue!!
 
And of course they could break the law if they wanted, but generally it isn't a good idea to just openly flaunt the law if you're an elected official. Also it provides cover for people who don't actually want to bring the flag down to just say "welp we can't."

So bizarre. If they had to deliberately frame laws regarding the battle flag that way, they should have had a clue that something was dramatically wrong. Similar to Amendment One being placed on the ballot during the GOP primary rather than during the general election.

Dunno what SC will actually do, but they don't want to have this issue hanging over their primary. Iowa had to get rid of the straw poll after Bachmann won and FIFA looked ridiculous when Qatar was awarded the World Cup. Really strange it took this long. Mississippi still on the clock...

Huckabee already called the Obamas crappy parents for allowing their daughters to listen to Beyoncé, weighed in on the Duggars, and gave a creepy response on transgenders, but the battle flag is a non-issue?!? Get that social conservatives are looking for a champion, but both Huck and Santorum have said waaaaay too many stupid and nutty things for even true believers to support them.
 
I'm glad we've determined in this thread that only the North has the KKK and that Western PA is the most racist place in the world.
 
I'm no Nikki Haley fan, but that was fantastic... Especially when the place erupted in applause when she said its time to take down that flag

She not only called for the flag to come down she said she will hold the state house in session until they vote on it.
