Official Elon Post-Game Thread (41-3 Wake Forest win)

Loved the jerseys, thought the sleeves looked awesome. Especially in the endzone.

Brent can definitely fill Crump's slot this year...Wade was great surprise. hopefully not a flash in the pan game like Jonathan Williams had a year or 2 ago,

You watch your whore mouth when talking about CHUCK Wade.

Or Tyree Harris, although he put together a few good games not to be heard from again.

He was notably happy. Talked about sticking with RB by committee. Take about what each guy did well.

if MACdeac isn't irrationally angry, i don't want him posting

Damn straight. I haven't been on here in months and was compelled enough by those horrendous jerseys to let it be known - anyone who thinks those things look "cool" or "super neat-o" should probably rethink going out in public because you probably look like a schmuck as well based on your judgement.

All black. Like they were. The all black was one of the best home jerseys in college football. Why turn it into some area football shit.

We tied #3 game all time for total offense at 591 yds.

Some great memories and classic games here.

In the UVA game in 75 we were up 50-0 at halftime and ended up winning 66-21. UVA simply gave up.

The game at UGA was a come behind for a 22-21 win 'between the hedges'. I don't think UGA has played Wake since then. Great story about James "Quick" Parker, our tiny all-ACC middle guard - He was totally exhausted when the game ended and was down on his hands and knees at midfield. Before leaving, he pulled up a bunch turf and stuffed it in his socks for a keepsake. He went on the be the Defensive Player of the Year in the CFL 3 times!

The Auburn game in 79 was the best Wake game ever. Deacs were down 38-20 at halftime and came back to win 42-38. Auburn's 2 backs (Joe Cribbs and James Brooks) both had over 100 yds rushing. Both also played in the NFL. James McDougald also had over 100 yds. Both teams had over 500 yds offense. Hell of a game to watch and a great come-from-behind win.

What was the story with the 638 yard explosion against UNC in 1968? That came at a time when college offenses were not particularly potent, and when WF football was not particularly strong. IIRC, Dooley was the coach of UNC then, and he does not seem like the kind of coach that would be prone to having his team give up a massive amount of yards to anyone let alone LOWF.
