OFFICIAL WAKE - Hoosiers game thread

Don't know how the game will turn out today, but I will make one lock prediction: There will be at least 20 posts on this thread bitching & whining about calls from the referees. You can count on it. It's the one lock on every WF game thread...bitching about officials' calls.

They richly deserve it, That was a tochdown!

Agreed. The biggest difference yesterday was that their offensive line was able to get enough push to get them five yards pretty much whenever they wanted. We haven't been able to do that for a long, long time.

After our last pass attempt was knocked down in the end zone we should have received 15 yards and a fresh set of downs. #16 for Indiana, the guy that knocked the ball down, made a throat slash gesture that the refs obviously missed.

It was after the play was over, so it would have been Indiana's ball, half the distance to the goal line.

That would have been after the play. Possession would go to Indiana and they would have been penalized half the distance to the goal.

watched it again. #clawsout

Absolutely ridiculous for anyone to say given our talent and our youth. We are the youngest team in college football and everyone can see the potential to be a great team in the future. Everyone except you and BKF.

I'm not blaming Clawson for losing football games at Wake Forest. You could resurrect Vince Lombardi to coach WF football and he couldn't win half of his ACC games over a prolonged period of time. The Jim Grobe miracle of 2006 thru 2008 has ruined many WF fans, who now think that should be the new norm for WF football...rather than the once in a lifetime exception that it actually was.

(However, if you see the potential to be a great team from these players, you are out of your fucking mind. Out of curiosity, what is your definition of a great team?)

You don't see from this group of freshmen and sophomores a team that could be a bowl team in a year or two? Because I do

FISH ON!

Looking at the roster and talented first or second year players ( particularly on offense), we should reasonably expect to have a good team next year with a realistic shot at 6 or 7 wins. Two years from now could be even better if this years recruiting class pans out and we recruit well again in the 2017 class.

Bob wouldn't be in such a bad mood all the time if he would change his depends more often.

2017 we can reasonably expect to compete in the ACC. We were that down on talent level, speed & depth. Right now our OLine is young & slow and lacking strength even with an Indiana. But given 2 more years, we will build up 20-30 pounds per man, more strength and be able to hold off the Dlines, open some quick hitting holes for our experienced RB's like Coburn, Reid & Bell. Give time to Hinton or Wolford to throw to Serigne & Hines. Then we can all reasonably expect to play competitive ball against the likes of Louisville, Clemson, FSU & NC State and not expect a close game to be a surprise.

Hinton was less than 50% on his passes.

oftentimes the Seattle quarterback who destroyed Wake while he was at NC State, then won at Wisconsin and then could have won two Super Bowls is around 50% but gets first downs with his legs and avoids sacks by being elusive. You're better off 10 out of 20 with no sacks and 7 carries for 50 yards then 12 out of 20 with 4 sacks and no rushing yards.

You mean like when Mr. Wilson came to BB&T field threw his first pick in a ton of attempts and left with an L and his tail tucked between his legs?
