OFFICIAL WAKE - Hoosiers game thread

The loss was due entirely to bad calls from the referees. I don't know if you are aware of this remarkable stat or not, but WF would actually be undefeated over the last 9 years if it wasn't for bad calls from officials. If you don't believe it, you can read back thru all the game threads on this board. For some reason, all the referees in the country just hate WF and are going to make sure that we lose games that we would otherwise win.

Really sucks when you can't get any home cooking. You should hire Bob knight as your football coach. Indiana got extra wins since he intimidated refs according to our competitors. lol He bullied himself into the hall of fame.

You can't look at just the passing stats you have to factor in the running, the sack avoidance, converting third downs by his running. With this oline Hinton gives us a better chance to win than Wolford even if Wolford has a higher passing percentage. Just like Wilson gave State, then Wisconsin, then Seattle a better chance to win than whatever they did before and since.

2017 we can reasonably expect to compete in the ACC. We were that down on talent level, speed & depth. Right now our OLine is young & slow and lacking strength even with an Indiana. But given 2 more years, we will build up 20-30 pounds per man, more strength and be able to hold off the Dlines, open some quick hitting holes for our experienced RB's like Coburn, Reid & Bell. Give time to Hinton or Wolford to throw to Serigne & Hines. Then we can all reasonably expect to play competitive ball against the likes of Louisville, Clemson, FSU & NC State and not expect a close game to be a surprise.

A close game with Clemson or FSU will be a complete shock as long as the coaches they have now are there. Kids are attracted to those programs now that Bowdens have retired or been fired and they get exclusively four and five star recruits. Spartanburg running back is the number one running back in the country and already committed to Clemdon. It will always be a shock when two and three star athletes are competitive with athletes from Clemson or FSU.

We will be able to compete with anyone else in the league.

Actually, Indiana was called for 11 penalties for 119 yards, while WF was only called for 7 penalties for 48 yards....but you would never realize that from reading this thread. Many of the posters here thought most or all of those 7 calls against WF were awful calls.

WF isn't losing football games because of imaginary bad calls. They are losing games because they are trying to compete in a conference in which they have no business trying to compete today....especially in football. All the other teams are just bigger, stronger & better than WF....and WF will continue to get its ass beat in conference games or P-5 OOC games at least 75% of the time, no matter who is coaching the team.

They were 3-9 last year, and they are probably going to finish 2-10 this year. And the next few years aren't going to be more than a couple of wins better than that...unless they start scheduling 3 or 4 FCS games as outside opponents. 3-5 in the ACC will be a good year going forward.

LOOK AT MEEEEEEEE

They were 3-9 last year, and they are probably going to finish 2-10 this year. 2 of those 5 wins were against FCS teams, 2 were against Army and the other was against a punchless Virginia Tech team that scored 0 points in the entire 60 minutes of regulation...and WF still had to go to OT to win because they couldn't score a single point either. And the next few years aren't going to be more than a couple of wins better than that...unless they start scheduling 3 or 4 FCS games as outside opponents. 3-5 in the ACC will be an unusually good year going forward.

After this season is over, WF will likely be 1-15 in the ACC over the last two seasons. Obviously, it almost has to get a little better than that...but you're going to see a lot of 2-6 ACC records ahead.

Wake Forest falls victim to the NCAA in exactly the same manner Howard Dean was unfairly ousted by the DNC.

I never bash people but BKF needs to get the hell out of here. NW, Duke, and Stanford all compete this year. We have competed somewhat recently. Good things are near. Just stop being an idiot. It's nice that we have fire on the sidelines. Perhaps we would've continued the good years if we hadn't had a nonchalant grass chewing man on the sidelines to recruit.

Edited to add: BKF we have agreed on the Braves thread many times, but come on.

Explain Duke University Football. Explain the 85 scholarship limit. There was no limit for most of Wake Football history. Explain television expansion. Wake was on TV one time in my four years in the seventies. There is no excuse for Wake Forest University not to field a competitive football team. I would agree there used to be pretty good excuses. Not now. It's a level playing field. TV, scholarships, conference money share. All of it. You are like a lot of people in all walks of life. When things don't go your way it's a bunch of lame excuses. The Wake athletic admin is 100 percent responsible for where this program is today. I think they are back on the right track. Clawson gets it. Sell to your strengths. And we have plenty to sell. The problems stem from people like you. Selling shit that has nothing to do with Wake. Your posts are just bull shit over and over.

I'd hate to be involved with any institution, group, or entity that included BKF. The idea that smaller means you can't outwit, out sell, out market, and out work your way to success is just garbage. Using his point of view no new companies would ever be started because the chance of competing against the Fortune 500 is fruitless. People and groups kick the shit out of "big and powerful" every freaking day. And they do it because they are winners and don't let "the BKF " attitude destroy their vision. Winners get off their ass and go to work. They don't sit around using some flawed historical view of why they are wasting their time. The hardest thing about being a Wake fan is having to put up with these fucking people and their loser attitudes.

No fucking University uses their endowment to promote or field a football team. Another lame point you have made. When I was at Wake UVA was the worst piece of shit football team in the country. Then they hired George Welsh. Duke University sucked for years. Then they hired a winner. I believe Wake has hired a winner too. It's really fucking simple to have a good football program. You need about 50 winners that can play. It's not hard. You bring up all the dumb shit like endowment and coach K. Scholarship football players at Duke are not there because of their fondness of coach K. They are there because a winning attitude coach sold them on the program. That's it. Plain and simple.

Your history is flawed. Scholarship limits and television evened the playing field for everyone. No excuses left. And you may be right in the short term, but that has nothing to do with fielding a competitive team in the long term. And if we don't we fire the leader and keep at it until we do. We get 85 scholarships like everyone else. You compete for players and win or you don't. If we don't, then the wrong people are in charge.

And you have more flawed history. When I was at Wake we were considered a small elite southern University. Our ranking in U.S. News was not even a national university. Today we are a nationally recognized top 25 national University. In your weak mind nothing has changed at Wake in 75 years. That's more bullshit. We are 1000 percent more well known in this country than we were even 30 years ago. Add scholarship limits, and television and the college football landscape for Wake has nothing to do with the picture one would have seen then. The whole basis of your lame historical (the past is prologue) argument is just bull shit. 100 percent bull shit.

In addition your stupid "history lessons" fail to recognize the invention of The Internet. Do you think that has changed things since 1950. You think it may have altered the ability to recruit and communicate your message to the country and the world. I'm probably older than you and you are embarrassing the shit out of yourself and me with your garbage message. Let it go. You are just wrong.
