Good bourbon

Front Street Brewery in Wilmington got a bottle of the 20 year Fitz. $71 for a half pour and $142 for a full pour!

Very much inspired by the posts on here, my favorite bourbons are:

Four Roses Single Barrel
Four Roses Small Batch
Smooth Ambler Old Scout
Breckenridge

This.

A friend went out to CO and picked me up a bottle of Breckenridge. Looking forward to trying it.

It is awesome. If you can find Leopold Brothers, you must make this cocktail:

From Acorn which is one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

I may have posted something about this on here before but can't remember. I went to school with the two great grandsons and they have re-established the Old Nick Williams name and are contract distilling through Foothills Distillery. They have applied for their permits and planning on setting up a new distillery at the original location in Forsyth County.

I picked up a bottle as a gift for my brother. I am not a fan of white liquor myself, so I can't comment on if it was good or not but I did have small pour of it last night. They are planning on a bourbon at some point.

Their stuff is hit or miss, but it is a cool local distillery.

Picked up two bottles of the Apple Whiskey when I was in Denver; I thought it was great.

New whiskey bar just opened in Charleston so I went to check it out this weekend; 130+ bottles behind the bar, lots of interesting stuff and stuff I had never heard of before (Jim Beam Sherry Cask, wtf?).

Anyway, went with 1oz pours of 4Rs single barrel (purchased by the bar, 120 proof and VERY smooth), OWA 107 which was carried more heat than I expected, and Breckennridge which I didn't like that much (too young). Had a couple of banquet beers to get me through the rest of the soccer match.

I had a couple pours of the Jim Beam Distiller's Masterpiece (finished in ex-sherry casks) about a month ago. Thought it was very good...of course it's also very expensive so I won't be purchasing a bottle of my own.

Anybody had a chance to taste this year's Parker's Heritage release? I have two bottles on their way to me, but I won't receive them for another couple of weeks. Interested to see if anybody has had a chance to sample it yet.

I have a couple bottles of it at home. It's pretty good, but not amazing by any means. The past few PHC releases are most definitely not what they used to be though. I still have a pour left of PHC2 and am saving it for something very specific. It's one of the best pours of bourbon I've ever had.

C2?

This hasn't been updated in a while, but here's the info through PHC 7. Some of the links are old and don't work anymore.

Chuck Cowdery as posted on StraightBourbon.com – “The thing I love about the 2012 PHC is that it isn't just about the gimmick of combining a wheater and a rye-recipe bourbon, it's about using those components to craft a truly outstanding whiskey. This is Craig and Parker Beam at the height of their powers. With that great Heaven Hill inventory at their disposal, they are confident and masterful. This is what limited edition bottlings should be”.

According to my Facebook feed, Larceny is coming out with "a Very Special Reserve".

ETA:

Guess that is what they were talking about? If so, that is Old Fitz not Larceny.
