Lumping CJ Harris and Ari Stewart in the same category?
 
And Chase Fischer was a good shooter, but being 6-0 and unathletic, he couldn't get his shot off and was a defensive liability in the ACC. Washington is a far cry from Fischer. Washington is the kind of player Tony Bennett has used with great success at Va. He's basically loaded up his roster with 6-5 to 6-8 athletic kids who can shoot and make life hard for the other team on defense. I think that's the formula to win when you can't go toe to toe recruiting 5*'s against K, Cal et al. And that is where we are right now. I don't like it any more than anyone else, but that's where we sit at this point. But at least DM has gotten us in the conversation with some 5*'s.
 
Would be more fitting if this thread went out with a whimper, falling just short of the anticipated 1000 page level.

Besides Fischer, we can track the careers of Cavanaugh, Moto, Overton and Green. Can't say I will miss them.
 
Most schools recruit in a pond but Wake Forest recruits in a puddle. But, why are we recruiting in puddles?
 
Someone mentioned this probably 300+ pages back, but we need to show success on the court before we can get some 5-stars. Let's make the tournament and win a game or 2 to prove we are back.

We can do this with 4&3 star guys and good coaching. We don't have to win the ACC... yet. We need to get back on the stage.

Teague & Johnson were not elite recruits. But they paved the way for Aminu& co who were.
