It's been 6 years....

The only thing Coach Danny can do is continue to bust his rump to build up this program. Gonna take 5-7 years but he will be successful. The man has been successful everywhere he has been. Kansas, NBA, Tulsa. Give the guy time.

Exactly, RC. Perhaps the most stunning thing about the last six years (and really well before that) is the extent to which the rank and file just accept the AD spin instead of understanding the narrative emerging in front of our faces.

That is stunning to you?

Wake Forest was featured nationally on the Today Show over rape allegations. We made national news touting Woods beating his girlfriend in front of their kid and breaking her spine. We had DWI's, multiple arrests, campus thefts... I get that if you took the time to look into every angle of those stories you could separate the spin from the reality, but the rank and file? Normal Wake grads and fans just new shit was fucked up and the AD was talking culture. How could it possibly surprise anyone that people would buy into that?

#narrative

I don't for one minute buy into the academic standard excuse...its an insult to our coaches. I can assure you that if Clawson and DM were told prior to accepting the job that for the next few years in addition to having to compete with Duke and UVA brand its going to be harder of you to get kids in school than at Duke or UVA.

Nobody in their right mind would take that job. We're a top 25 university but we're not Duke or Stanford.

Because most of those things happened after Dino was let go and Dino was only 6 months into an extension. The AD spin didn't make sense on its face.

Because it takes at most ten minutes to put all those events in chronological order, and then even less time to conclude that the AD's narrative makes no fucking sense

It would literally only take a cursory knowledge of the general facts in each of those stories to separate the spin from reality. And if you wanted to dig deeper there were plenty of posters spelling it out in full detail on here from day 1.

Most of things became public after Dino was let go. There was a significant lag between when some of them happened and when they became widely known.

Wellman gave Dino a contract extension simply for recruiting purposes because we needed keep Dino's recruits and to keep recruiting momentum going.

But Wellman fired Dino because he had been recruiting players who didn't fit the culture and got into a lot of trouble including being accused of rape.

But Wellman's staff supposedly investigated the rape allegations and found there was nothing to them. The accuser went on the Today Show for a segment on how college athletic departments don't take rape allegations seriously.

Wellman hired a coach in [name redacted] in order to the culture necessary to move the program forward. Under [name redacted], there were "DWI's, multiple arrests, and campus thefts." And don't forget the "things that haven't even gone public" which somehow people don't realize means Wellman's staff was covering them up.

Yep. It's hilarious and sad to see posters who were all "In Wellman I Trust" all of a sudden having revelations about how bad things have been.

Just about all of those things happened after Dino was let go. As a matter of fact, several of those things happened with players who were never students at Wake while Dino was the head coach.

The rape allegation happened while Dino was coach. That's it.

All but one of those things happened after Dino was let go.

And anyone paying any attention at all to the rape allegation and wake forest basketball should quickly come to the realization that the alleged rape happened 1 year before Dino was fired.

The very first question anyone associated with Wake Basketball should have asked Hatch or Wellman was "Did you know about this when you gave Dino a contract extension?"

Just by reading the news report the answer was clearly "Yes"

And as I pointed above, the WFU take on the rape allegation is that it was a consensual sexual act.

Exactly. The whole thing falls apart. Add up Wake's response to the allegations, what happened, and the spin and you see that Dino was given an extension then fired because one player got a consensual blow job.

Good points.

They were his recruits not what's his names.

Then why was Dino given an extension for recruiting them? Why weren't those recruits asked to leave the program when [Redacted] got the job? Why did the AD cover up the DWIs?

Kinda like the President.

And don't forget that the player accused of rape (a.k.a. the type of player we would no longer recruit after Dino) was the fucking team captain in [Redacted]'s first year here.
