2015-2016 MLB Stove: Talk To Your Congressman About Stopping DH Expansion

In today's episode of "What Will Yoenis Cespedes Drive to Work Today?" Yoesnis rides in on a horse.

That’s all folks.

The Yoenis Cespedes pig saga has reached conclusion, as the Mets outfield sent Monday’s $7,000 purchase at the St. Lucie County Fair to the butcher, according to The Post’s Mike Puma.

Cespedes told reporters he wasn’t allowed to keep the 270-pound grand-champion hog, which he had won an auction for.

The pig, raised by a member of the local 4-H club, was the latest head-turning move by Cespedes, who has shown up to spring training in increasingly ludicrous cars before he and Noah Syndergaard channeled their inner cowboy on Tuesday, showing up to camp on horses.

Just saw a tweet that the Dodgers payroll for their pitchers only is higher than 13 other teams total combined payroll - thats amazing without Greinke.

Kershaw - $32
Maeda - $17
Anderson - $16
McCarthy - $11
Kazmir - $8
Ryu - $7
Jensen - $10
Sierra - $7
Howell - $6

There are others too, but wow - I think Friedmans gone crazy.

Would they seriously considering calling Crawford up before the ASG if he goes on a tear? Or is he pretty much locked into a September call-up at the earliest?

With a new front office and a shift in the power struggle of the ownership group, it's kind of hard to tell what they'll do. But I'd imagine they'll be pretty conservative. He just turned 21.

Cardinals lock up Kolten Wong for 5/$25 - thats a pretty good deal - he is a solid fielder and he is getting better at the plate.

I too will be surprised if he is brought up and uses up a year in the majors. This is the last year of Ryan Howard's contract. He'll be gone next season. The Phillies young talent seems to mostly be a year away, so look for the new regime to be very conservative with bringing guys up for long stretches. Maybe a few injury call-ups for 10 days or so.
