At least 25 wounded in New York City blast

The people who react most strongly to terrorism are folks who live in places that have the absolute least likelihood of ever being hit by an attack.

NYC is resilient. We need the rest of America to realize that the way terrorists win is to make us change our society in reaction to their violent publicity stunts.

this is both clever and true

Apparently, they have video showing one vehicle/man at both scenes.

Trump has already declared this is radical Islamic terrorism on Fox News.

Ahmad rahami is a weird name for an Amish terrorist.

Amish terrorists again?

Always a chance it could be a non-Muslim. Really hope Trump had solid info and wasn't shooting from the hip, assuming what ONW said is accurate. Could backfire big time if he's wrong.

This was my point.

The man has been named as Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, a naturalised US citizen who was born in Afghanistan.

One of the things I love about living in New York is that some dude tried to blow up two city blocks and everyone just keeps on living their lives like nothing happened

Do you want people in urban centers to be more afraid or something? Cities are pretty well prepared to deal with acts of terrorism post-9/11. That was the reason for spending trillions on national security and it appears to be paying off. I'm in NY right now and lived here for 5 years post-9/11. The city is moving normally post-bombings and with the GA in session. That's a testament to preparation and resilience, something that the fear mongerers on the right and left could learn something from.
