FSU Game Review / Bye Week and Army Game Thread

Wolf was dreadful, but keep it on the ground and quick routes to Tabari, Chuck, Cortez, and Serigne would've gotten the job done today. Just an awful job by the coaching staff.

Yes this.

Have we had a single 5 yard completion over the middle this year? It seems that a guy like Chuck Wade could make a killing on short little crossing routes, yet it seems that part of the field is completely off limits in our offense. Not sure if it is due to the routes or Wolford's decisions. Of course a 5 yard crossing route would likely end up as a 10 yard interception...

This. Coaches handed this game away on a silver platter. I want to call the coaches show for the first time ever.

I know Hinton has been hurt. I also know that Wolford sucks. Maybe we use the bye week to get Kearns some reps. I also agree that there is some issue with Cam. Either he and John don't like each other or Cam has done something to piss John off this year. You have one of the best TEs in the ACC and won't throw the friggen ball to him. Who is that on?

Probably helping Cam Sergne's health by not throwing to him. How many times last 2 years did Cam make a great catch AND got the snot knocked out of him. Wolford's first INT today was result of high pass to Sergne.

The fact Wolfords sux so much and never hits a receiver in stride probably has them all gun shy of getting killed . Man he is just a horrible passer and a Jr. in college just makes it all disgusting.
barf just barf

Wolford was horrible but let's not forget his *scintillating* supporting cast, whose lackluster play magnified and overly focused the whole offense on Wolford's glaring weaknesses. We are really up a creek just as the teams we were hoping to beat are coming on like freight trains.

We should give up on the quick passes to the edge. Our receivers can't block for shit. Best case is 2yds. Worst case is an interception, which Wolford has thrown out there a couple of times this year.

Wolford is tough as nails, but he's just not good enough to be playing at this level. At one time I thought with an O-line that could protect he could be okay because I was under the impression he had an accurate arm. He had tons of time to throw today for the most part and made so many horrid throws. I fear he's going to be the guy the last 4 games though, Hinton didn't even have pads on after warm ups today.

Just back from the game as well. On the bright side we know that Wake can beat Army 9 out of 10 times.

Our only TD was on this play.

Offensive game plan was terrible. Wolford made bad throws. WRs ran bad (the wrong) routes and made no effort to get to the ball.

Stfu about his toughness. He's a dogshit white tryer with zero ability

Just back to Beech Mountain. It's hard to recall being so frustrated following a game. The game plan made no sense and obviously didn't work. The execution was horrible, but good execution would not have saved that game plan. Our staff was completely out coached, especially in the 2nd half. And, Army proved to be a better conditioned team. Our defense was worn out by their offense.

Wolford played extremely poorly; but the staff did nothing to help him. I love his guts and toughness, but Kearns deserved a shot when it became clear that Wolfold just didn't have it tonight.

I don't like calling for people's jobs, but our OC should be reassigned, not just based on tonight but based on the entire season.

Wolford was terrible today. Anyone who now tries to support this guy as the QB of choice completely lacks credibility. Pretty much singlehandedly lost this game. Cannot survey the field. Telegraphs every pass and then throw into double coverage. Also almost always high or low. I think Hinton is hurt badly and we are stuck but this guy has to be replaced as soon as possible.

Would,agree with OC comment.

You're trying to be kind, but we don't want some lower level coach promoted above his ability to take the reins of the offense. If Ruggiero were "reassigned", then a lower coach would be fired to make room for a new OC. Is that fair? No, Ruggiero should just be fired, and bring in someone who knows how to run an offense.
