I've tried to be positive for Manning; but this demonstrates that he is not the guy we need...this and our entire season thus far minus LSU.
It's beyond baffling to me. I really want to know what is going through his head when decides to have Collins and Crawford on the bench up 7 with 3 mins left.Manning just doesn't seem to care about building leads. It's as if he assumes he always has enough cushion and any lead is an opportunity to rest his best players.

And foul trouble isn't an excuse. Nobody had more than 3 fouls. Not a single player in foul trouble and he still used absurd lineups and went away from what was working. We were killing them with Collins then he took Collins out. We had a big lead and Crawford was hot so he went with Childress and Wilbekin.

I will concede that Manning is a decent recruiter as our talent level has clearly improved with him as coach. However, I would challenge anyone to point out anything else he does well. He is low energy, shows no passion or emotion and his team plays the same way. His in game coaching is bad and his end of game coaching is simply atrocious. As far as representing the University...his public speaking skills are below average and he lacks the ability to motivate or encourage fans and alumni. What else is there? Time to go!
We are going to need a new head coach soon. I don't think we will get one, but we need one. He does not have the capacity to learn and grow as a coach.
This thread should no longer debate Danny Manning's credibility. The debate is over.

I don't give a damn about the timeouts, I give a damn about the shitty lineup combinations he continues to run out there for extended periods of time.
Collins hasn't fouled out of a game yet and is 6th in minutes played on the team right now. I get that he may be teaching him lessons, but Manning's lack of understanding of how to manage players with foul trouble is what pisses me off the most. Since our freshmen aren't ready to contribute we are somewhat short on guys who can play inside, so when you pull Collins out (and Moore is hurt), then we basically have to move Dinos to the 5, which completely changes how we play the game.
If he would just let Collins play through it JUST ONCE then it would reap dividends.
