Then do a countif on each column, and multiply that times the reversed weighting (i.e. First choice is weighted 10). Do that across all 10 columns and add the result of each row at the far right. That should give you a decent weighted ranking.

Seems a little tedious, but I guess the initial setup the only real problem.
 
I actually don't think it will be that hard - the alternative is to reformat the whole thing with kids and activities on the axes, and the reverse the rankings again for weighting - that will be tougher.
 
Just introduce them to matball and they won't want to do anything else. Problem solved

Is there a way to set up a countif(range, "adjacent cell") instead of typing out the formula each time?

I just sorta wish we could stop conflating "hack" with "guessing a password". When RJ says that Biff tried to "hack his website", what does that even mean?

cool - I was just trying to do it and had the same issue.

=COUNTIF(B$6:B$10,$A12)*10
was my final formula for a number one ranked activity, copy across but sub in 9, 8, 7, etc for 10 on lower ranked activities. it might work without that - you could try multiplying by the actual ranking so long as it ignores blanks cells. my worry is that zeroes would distort the low ranks.

If he got into my website, he could have done all sorts of damage to me and others around me. But that's OK to you. Screwing RJ is a sport to you.

As I said, if he "guessed my password", with one cut and paste and one click, he could have sent materials out that could have sent me to jail. But that's funny to you and to palma and to cookout and others here.

Remember, I'm not operating in a void. Others have "guessed my "password" and insulted people here pretending to be me. There's no reason not to believe Biff could have done worse and thought it was funny.

it's possible that someone has tried to hack you that has nothing to do with this board. I'm willing to wager than 99.99999% of all hacking attempts have nothing to do with wake forest sports message boards.
