bye bye obamacare

Lol congrats on potentially passing something through the House. Good luck with the Senate.

I think this or something like it will pass but this is hardly a repeal of Obamacare. At best it is a reworking of Obamacare.

It will still be most of the disaster that Obamacare has been.

Now the Dems can hate it too since it will be called Trumpcare.

Shit it looks like Obamacare-light. Republicans plagiarizing yet again...sad!

Obama created this clusterfuck....and he did it for purely partisan political reasons. It never did anything to lower the cost of healthcare...nor was that ever its true intended purpose. ACA was, basically, just another Democratic entitlement program designed to give 8 to 10 million people healthcare for little or, in some cases, nothing, to win more hearts & souls (and votes) for the Democratic Party.....while the usual suspects picked up the bill for all the added cost. And, of course, it was also a nice payback to Big Pharma and the heath insurance industry who, along with that 8 to 10 million people who are getting subsidized health insurance, are the only winners in this debacle.

Obama is trying to govern in a reasonable manner, but all the Republicans want to do is play politics. You saw it with the healthcare bill. You saw it with the debt ceiling bill. That's all today's Republican Party wants to do....play politics with every issue, no matter how important it is to the future of the country. They have become nothing but a bunch of stubborn ideologues......and, hopefully, independent voters are making note of their irresponsible behavior.

Well, that's not surprising at all.

2011. See bkf used to be a hard core liberal who thinks that incomes should be capped at a couple of million per year and taxed heavily.

I thought he thought nobody needs to make a million a year.

Board liberals gradually made me aware that my earlier positions were wrong.....and I have since recanted those positions.

ETA: Former Obama supporters were instrumental in the election of Donald Trump last November....and there are a lot more of us than many of you care to admit.

Along with:

1) Hilary
2) PC
3) BLM
4) HB2

Bob's "principles" make Trump's look like they are set in stone.

Who cares what an old man thinks who has such little philosophical grounding of his positions that he will literally go from hard core left to hard core right in a period of a few years and contradict himself with his own statements in the past.

Your entire political philosophy, and your entire philosophy in general, seems to stem from you being butthurt about one thing or another. Be it Carl Tacy, or Bobby Knight, or Howard Dean, and now "the spoiled liberal Wake Forest millennials" that your wild imagination concocts as the primary posters here. You are pathetic, and your main contribution is to provide something for the rest of us to mock.

Wasn't really gradual. More like all of the sudden.

I haven't posted anything here in a couple of months, as I have mostly concluded that all the bickering is a waste of time. However, I ran across this article and just couldn't pass up posting it....because it does the best and most thorough job I have yet seen of explaining where we are today in this country and how we...and the Republican Party in particular....got to this sad state of affairs.

I really have nothing else to add to it....but I think it should be a must-read for anyone who is concerned about the future of government in this country, because it is a colossal mess right now and, as this article concludes, may well get even worse before it gets better.

what annoys me the most about bkf is that, regardless of his position, he speaks as if it is absolute truth. Be it far left liberal or hardcore right conservative, his language and tone are so ABSOLUTE.

Bob...you have life experience. You should know better. The truly learned man knows that he knows nothing.

Of course, I could be wrong.
