Risc, you still haven't answered. You brought up sanctuary cities as a bad thing. Do you even know what this means? Please tell us your version of what sanctuary cities are.

He doesn't even know that Saudi Arabia financially backed 9/11. Their radical schools and billionaires fund ISIS and other radical groups. His buddies the Bushes and Trump are sucking Saudi Arabia's ass and asking for more. Appeasement in Islamic terror begins with appeasing the Saudis.

Terrorists hope like hell that we will blame "Islam". If you want to play directly into their hands and contribute to the escalation of indiscriminate violence, just blame "Islam" and "Muslims" and "go after" them, isolate them, oppress them, kill them.

If you want to know who to listen to, do NOT listen to any fool that tries to suggest that the problem of Islamic terrorism is simple and all we have to do is "get tough" with Islam.

I'm pretty sure that "Islamic" terrorism is heterogeneous, being a varied conglomeration of political, cultural, economical, ethnic, and religious influences. It should be possible to "go after" actual terrorists and at the same time seek to understand and mitigate (as able) the various influences that give rise to its occurrence and growth. Part of this is to distinguish and encourage the idea, as able, that good/right Islam is by definition that which does not condone terrorism. And to partner with those that support this notion.

To strive to do this is not appeasement. Even if you think it is. !
 
why's riscdeac so sensitive about getting it on with a priest?? It happenned to a lot of people. The past is the past.

It's not about felons. Sanctuary cities don't work with the feds with people whose only crime is crossing or staying illegally.
 
Is there actual evidence that strongly suggests blaming Islam contributes to these attacks? London is tolerant as fuck and expects an extremely low level of assimilation and has a Muslim mayor, and they don't care. Judging from the areas in the Middle East that have any level of stability, it seems strong autocratic assholes as savage as them are the only way to deal with them. I don't pretend to know the answer to fighting an ideology either, but putting up no fight also seems to pretty clearly not be the answer

No, I don't think Obama was perfect against radical Islam but I don't think he was feckless and weak either or anything of that nature, or a Chamberlain.

I'd like to hear someone articulate what should be done now policy-wise and what you believe should have been done from 2008-2016 that was not done.
