honestly, I don't think I played well as a vanilla civ, which is probably why I'm alive. it's been a looooooooooooong time since I was vanilla though, not really used to it. I probably made the game too much about me, which is generally a mistake for that role?

In this format if only the RB remains, he may choose to RB instead of hit. Otherwise our standard ruleset is mafia must hit. HOWEVA I think in this format the mafia should not be forced to hit going forward.

you are completely incorrect, and your focus on "the" was really silly. "may" is the key word. And I am pretty sure most places don't make the mafia hits compulsory period. There is just very rarely a time when they wouldn't want to.
