Chat Thread Smidger: RIP, internet acquaintance

my son got lyme disease on a campout not long ago. I saw this giant target rash on his back and said - what's up with that; he said his mom said it was a spider bite. WRONG. Caught it early though and the doctor says he's fine after a strong regime of antibiotics.

My brother in law has it rn

Think they caught it early and he's ok

ticks are so fucking lame. think I picked it up about a month ago taking my daughter on a hike.

in other news, I almost stepped on a 4' rattlesnake while hiking this weekend. that was terrifying and cool

We got a bit off trail yesterday on a hike and at an overlook I stopped and picked three ticks off my wife

They're serious this year

read 2 pages of that mafia thread

that gouda guy seems like the most insufferable dude ever

If anyone ever is looking for a good place to camp/hike in northern,PA lemme know b/c the Quehanna Wild Area of PA is pretty awesome and I have some recommendations.

Started "The Defiant Ones" over the weekend... It's good.

Some of that could be because I was in middle school / high school when NWA (& then solo Dre) really got rolling, but it's still interesting and very well done, imo.

One of my good friends got Lyme disease. Misdiagnosed as mold exposure and them MS, took about 2 years to get it right, but damage was done. Doesn't have feeling in his hands or feet. He went nutty for a few years too. Just brutal.

...no offense to your ex (or offense, your choice), but how do you live in an area with ticks and NOT know that a target rash like that = lymes?

it's actually less than half the time that the bite area is a clean/clear bulls-eye

C'mon. Some people are willfully ignorant. I live in Arizona and had to tell my sister Home Depot rents portable A/C units this weekend. She didn't know portable A/C units existed. Much less that Home Depot sells them.

Going to San Francisco for work and have a free day. Anyone got a suggestion on something fun to do?

but even still. maybe my parents were just hyper vigilant so now I am, but if any bite started to present a little funny we were watching it to look bullseye-ish or resolve. if it didn't resolve, it got checked out.

I didn't know it until a few years ago. And I'm an Eagle Scout.

Hopefully all of you become chronic Lyme disease truthers and come protest with the other idiots.
