Public transport? In LA? Why, it's not like anyone will use it.Almost everything is already built. We might need some more hotels and public transportation, but more of the venues exist.
I actually rode the subway. It was packed and fairly quick, but it doesn't go many places.
And of course they are thanking Donald Trump for helping to bring the Olympics back to the U.S. All a part of his "Make America Great" plan of course! Let the games, expenses and cost overruns begin! Nothing gets done in Cali without the Left Coast worrying about the spotted tree frog and such.
I mean, the trains radiate out from downtown to Santa Monica, Burbank, Koreatown, Pasadena, East LA, Long Beach, and LAX-area, depending on the line. It's not the most convenient, but it's pretty impressive considering where it was 10 years ago.
The Olympics will probably fast track the rest of the metro development, which will be great for the city overall. Good point about the venues, but don't you think they'll want to update a lot of them?[/QUOTE]
Are you saying the metro (above ground train) or the subway, which has already commenced construction? The latter would be very cool although I don't think it's expected to be done within 10 years.
There are both above ground and subway lines in operation already.
Sorry to make this a non-sports thread but that is incorrect, RJ. This is a real subway being built, underground and everything. It's schedule to be completed in 2024 now, while the initial timetable was 2035! It will run from Wilshire and Western, basically along Wilshire Blvd to the VA in Westwood except for a detour through Century City.
