CBM: X-Men '97; Deadpool and Wolverine trailer

Never say never. Amazing Spider-Man 2 came out only 3 years ago.

I love the idea of another MCU period film. It will be cool for the 90s to get the same treatment the 80s has been getting for awhile.

What an exciting time! Spider-Man Homecoming just came out. And in the next 7 months we are getting 8 episodes of The Defenders, 8 episodes of Inhumans, Thor: Ragnorak, 13 episodes of The Punisher, Season 5 of Agents of SHIELD, and Black Panther. We also may get Cloak and Dagger and Daredevil Season 3.

Add Runaways debuting on Hulu on November 21.

I guess this is the trend. Nickel and diming instead of the one stop Netflix shop. I can't guarantee I'll subscribe to watch one movie every now and then.

Another angle in this is that Netflix is apparently up to their necks in debt. Why is everybody rushing into a model that isn't profitable?

While we're unzipped and waiting for the Defenders this week, don't forget that the new series for The Tick begins Aug 25 on Amazon Prime.

Any thoughts on Preacher? I like what they're doing, but it is ridiculously slow.

So, I read Infinity Gauntlet stuff as a kid. Can we expect Adam Warlock in this movie? Was he in the end of GoG 2? I can't recall. HALP!

I'm going to base this off memory so no links to verify...
Adam Warlock will first show up in GotG 3. Infinity War will be released before that. What's unknown is Avengers 4's release date compared to GotG 3. Ideally, the latter will be released first and Warlock will be there for A4. It really is almost inconceivable to think of Thanos and Warlock both being in the universe together without being tightly intertwined.

Oh, yes he was "in" GotG2 in one of the mid-credits scenes, just in his cocoon.

I've seen all of the Netflix Marvel series except for Iron Fist. Do I really need to sit through it to watch Defenders or should I just watch an episode or two to get introduced to the character and skip the rest?

You can watch an episode of two and skip the rest. Or, just skip it all. It was awful.

He's powered by Chi, that Chi can make his fist glow and punch real hard. He was missing for years in KunLun (sp?) where he defeated a dragon to get the Iron Fist. KunLun is now (spoiler) missing (/spoiler).

Knowing that, don't even bother giving it 2 eps.

Not necessary, but could be interesting to learn more about the Hand and how it's structured. Colleen Wing and Night Nurse were the best parts of the show. It wasn't horrible, but wasn't as good as the others - mainly because the largest weakness of the series was Iron Fist himself - both in casting and in writing.

I'll grant the Hand factions were interesting and I agree with your other points about Colleen and Claire. If there was 1 episode to watch it would be the one where we learn about the Hand.

On top of the above mentioned flaws, the corporate "intrigue" was a total snoozefest. Looking back, the Meachums were basically the Trump family, just dumber.

CBM: Marvel's The Defenders premieres on Friday

It was the worst thing Marvel has put out since The Incredible Hulk. It's not as bad as people say.

I think learning about the Hand would be helpful.

If you sub out the guy who played Iron Fist, you're probably looking at a 2nd half of Luke Cage quality of show.

Yeah. If Marvel had followed this rule, it would have helped. Don't talk about your hero getting his powers by fighting a dragon if you're not going to show it. Just don't. Such a tease.

I just finished last night's. It's still pretty wacky, what with the inadvertent gang rape of Herr Starr, for example. It could use more Julie Ann Emery in a torch singer dress.

If the CW can give us multiple episodes featuring King Shark, then we should have had a chance to see Danny Rand battle that dragon.

Very well said. Not to mention we got the multiple Gorilla Grodd arcs.
